I have just upgraded from RN Firebase v5 to v6. Followed the documentation precisely. On iOS, everything is working fine. I can use the Auth module successfully.
Unfortunately, on Android, the app runs well, but the moment when I am trying to register a user, the app throws an error.
Error: You attempted to use a firebase module that's not installed on your Android project by calling firebase.app().
Ensure you have:
1) imported the 'io.invertase.firebase.app.ReactNativeFirebaseAppPackage' module in your 'MainApplication.java' file.
2) Added the 'new ReactNativeFirebaseAppPackage()' line inside of the RN 'getPackages()' method list.
See http://invertase.link/android for full setup instructions.
What I understand from this error is that the whole Firebase module is missing from the Android project.

Hi there - not sure what went wrong, there are lots of ways things can go wrong, but if you run this script it will crank out a template which you can compare with your files (android/build.gradle / android/app/build.gradle / package.json etc) https://github.com/mikehardy/rnfbdemo/blob/master/make-demo-v6.sh
there are comments all through it that show what's being done + why
Thanks a lot!!!
Finally managed to make it work.
The project generated by your script in combination with https://react-native-community.github.io/upgrade-helper made me realize that I was missing some lines when I migrated RN to 0.6 and most importantly, I was overriding the list of packages in getPackages().
upgrade-helper is magic, yes - good luck on your project
I tried everything mentioned in this thread. Unfortunately, nothing worked on this @react-native-firebase/auth.
import io.invertase.firebase.auth.RNFirebaseAuthPackage; //Due to Error: You attempted to use a firebase module that's not installed on your Android project by calling firebase.app().
This is the error I am getting. Does anyone familiar with this issue in @react-native-firebase/auth. I don't do manually linking cause I am using the below versions.
"@react-native-firebase/auth": "^10.0.0",
"react": "16.13.1",
"react-native": "0.63.3",
@dushanrandika I don't just use it in my work project, I also have a demo that shows it importing and answering a basic API call, here's the current link (which should pull in the versions you are on) https://github.com/mikehardy/rnfbdemo/blob/master/make-demo.sh
