React-mapbox-gl: Why we should use react-mapbox-gl instead of mapbox-gl
Can someone explain to me the benefits?

personal choice. the wrapper has already had alot of hard work put into it and you still have access to the mapbox library via context if needed.
I will admit I wish the docs were better on how to do certain things but you can figure it out pocking around the mapbox examples and using context to achieve anything
