Radarr keeps downloading unknown movie

For some reason in the past month or so Radarr has been downloading a movie that was never added to the list and don't think the film even exist. It comes up as a movie named Film from either 2016 or 2017. The logs don't show much except for this message over and over again:

I'm having same problem. I had found the files "Film 2017.AVI" under "The Circle" I think that was the movie name they were under, anyway I deleted the movie from RADARR and the files from disk, but RADARR keeps trying to download Film 2017. It's been doing this ALL DAY LONG...

That's strange. Exactlly the same issue with the same film...I havent found anything in the logs to lead me to where this is coming from.

@gregcbrown Yeah, clear either the download from your dl client's history or run the housekeeping task under System -> Tasks.

If it keeps downloading this file over and over again maybe it's wise to enable debug logging and hope it would contain more information

So glad this isn't just me.
Not the first time Radarr has done this to me either. It also did the same with "Shoot.A.Cop.To.Kil.3.2017"
I couldn't even find that one on IMDb

Also did the same with;
"Nick.Cannon.Stand.Up.Dont.Shoot.2017"
I couldn't find any move in my list with remotely similar title or common word(s).

I really wish the logs told you what movie it believes it has matched like CouchPotato does.

I should have said the other two movies doing this I mentioned above eventually just stopped on their own. Probably ran out of sources to download rather than actually being resolved.

Cleared Film 2017 from sabnzbd history, there were about 10 instances. And ran Housekeeping task. Will let you know outcome...

No it does not because Radarr wil again in some weird way want to download it again and again even if you clear all films in radarr wanted and clear sabnzbd history. It does not matter. It will return like a ghost :)

@wvkreg You need to setup remote path mapping or give all folders the same name for all docker containers.

What do i need to put in remote path
Radarr docker is on same synology.

I download to /volume1/downloads/cp
sabnzbd places files here, sabnzbd uses temp download path /volume1/downloads/incomplete
Then i want radarr to rename them and place them in /volume1/video

How do i set this up?

Good point on the imdb ID, but I checked against one of the completed downloads on one of my indexers and the IMDB ID points to the correct film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6392102/

@mrjemson This is a film that Radarr downloaded and you did not have it in your library, correct? If that's the case, I would ask your indexer staff, if they fixed the imdbid (they normally do that).

@wvkreg So, If I read your config correctly, you should setup a remote path mapping, where the remote path is /volume1/downloads/cp (Path your download client tells radarr it downloaded to) and your local path is /downloads/cp (Path for Radarr docker).

@galli-leo I guess it is about tt1490017. When I search for 'Film' I find a lot of hits regarding this movie. When I lookup film.avi on my disk it also finds this movie.

I have not had any more occurances of this since deleting movie, deleting files, removing from sabnzbd and running housekeeping...

I stopped Radarr, I renamed everything so 'Film' or something like that does not exist anymore on my disk, and I restarted Radarr.

Unfortunately I can't identify the specific indexer that sent the movie to sabnzbd. When I look at 2 of my inexers, there are a few titles "Film 2017 BRRip AC3 XviD avi", and when I look at the, there are various Movies or TV shows that appear under this title, none of which I am looking for. One of them is :The Circle" which is the one I originally found the file under and deleted the file(s) and radarr movie. There is also"Get Out", "The Mummy" which I am tracking, but I don't see the imdbid on any of them.

I am getting a bit lost. I can not find 'Film' in SABnbd, also not in the history. When I look in my indexers it is found. But I can not find the link between Radarr, and the indexxers.

Please tell me what more can I do for you?

It is still gone. So removing The Circle solved my problem. I found this out by checking what my indexers were looking for. There is 1 index-site that returns a lot of different Film-files like this when you search for this movie.

@gregcbrown @pven Probably not, since the files would still be there when the physical release date is hit. I would advice talking to your indexer staff about that. I am pretty sure that the imdbid's are just mislabelled, no idea why Radarr would download the movies otherwise.

I think (!) I've blocked these by adding a a "must not contain" restriction with "Film 2017". You can't type a "space" inside a tag (the input assumes this is the start of a new string), but you can copy and paste in to the field. It's been two days anyway; here's hoping it lasts.

I'm having exactly the same issue. Film 2016 and film 2017 continuously download. The circle...Lego Batman...and a few others were what the movies actually were. I think the issue is that radar grabs them, then once downloaded, doesn't know what to do. Doesn't know what they are and grabs the next release. I would say 30 downloads in last 2 days. I am worried if I exclude film 2016, I won't get anything with film OR 2016 . Any suggestions?

@champs777 pretty sure this is an error on your indexers side, so I would ask them if they could give the movies the correct name.

This is rediculous... How can I stop this? I have two movies now that keep trying to "import' but I've deletd them in RADARR, and removed them from SABNZBD history, as well as deleted the files from the "completed" folder in sabnzbd...

@galli-leo I 100% agree that it is the indexers. They are working to try and stop these from posting. My question for you. Is it possible to add a restriction that looks at a string and not a word when ignoring movies. I would love to add "Film 2016" and "Film 2017", but I am worried that this will block all film or 2016 or 2017. Can you just clarify?

If you add Film 2016 as one tag, it should successfully block those, but not other one's containing things such as 2016 or Film separately.

@gregcbrown There must be something telling Radarr that there is a movie there. Can you try rebooting the host machine?

To be very clear...i don't think this is a radarr issue at all. The movies are the right movies, that is why Radarr is getting them. I think all of these movies have the name film for the title and it is screwing everything up. I am just trying to find a solution b/c I am getting soooooo many downloads.

The only thing, that maybe radarr could help, if even possible. Radarr knows that Film 2016 is movie A right? Once Film 2016 downloads, it would be really nice that even though Movie A is called Film 2016, Radarr renamed it to Movie A and marked it as downloaded. Right now it "seems" like File 2016 downloads, radarr doesn't know what it is, and just keeps grabbing other copies.

Hopefully that makes sense. I really enjoy radarr btw. Amazing app. Really!

@champs777 Working on that. However, since many different movies are called Film 2016, this sadly would not work, as all files after the first one would be imported to that same movie.

@galli-leo I have rebooted and still it keeps trying to import. BTW I have no movies on disk with those names, RADARR was tring to import them because they existed in the "completed" folder from sabnzbd. I have since deleted them but can't seem to tell RADARR to quit trying to load them because they don't exist.

I just came across this problem with dognzb for the movie "IT". Also interesting enough, the category the file downloaded from is from "Misc -> Internal" which I'm not sure what category that is... as on the main site there's only "Misc" (8000) and "Misc -> Other" (8010). Guess one solution could be to not search the 8XXX categories as I'm pretty sure none of the movies I've ever downloaded came from there and if they did I'm sure it didn't take long for them to appear in the right categories. That's not to say there isn't a mislabeled nzb in the main movie categories also; wont know till that happens...

Edit: Further investigation shows radarr by default is only suppose to be searching/downloading from "2000,2010,2020,2030,2035,2040,2045,2050,2060" so not even sure how this movie was tagged as a match to download...

@pb1051 What do you propose for a real solution? Not really something we can do except tell the indexer to fix these things :/ (I mean we could block releases with Film in the title, but you can do that yourself as well)

@galli-leo Yeah this is an interesting one, in the case of my previous comments above 10 days ago since it was a few hours after the nzb had been posted on the site I don't know if it had been fixed/moved before I looked into it and saw it was in the "Misc > Internal" category, I'd assume it was moved/fixed else that'd be a bug where radarr is searching the 8xxx categories when its not suppose too.

I guess the most interesting thing for everyone including myself is I never had this issue with CouchPotato but I've only switched to Radarr about a month ago BUT then again this appears to be a new thing happening in the last month from what I can Google BUT... the real kicker is everything I'm finding when googling the mysterious Film 2017 downloads I can't find a single page/post/thread/topic that's NOT using Radarr which leads to it all having something to do with Radarr specifically and not necessarily a problem with the indexers.

@omicr0n Yeah we (afaik cp does not) use the imdbid the indexer gives us to match a release even if the name does not match. Most of the time this works in the favour of the user, since often obscure names are not in the tmdb database. But now there seems to be some lazy uploaders which are too lazy to add the correct title. I will have to see what I can do about that :/

I have had this problem on and off with various movies over the past year or so; nothing i was able to do to fix it. Imdb # / Title etc did not match in any way very mysterious!
Most recently "Baby Driver". I usually just remove the movie causing the issue and manually download/add it to my library; in this particular case i just removed it from my list because i wasn't too keen to download that movie anyway haha!

Since this really is the indexers fault, closing the issue. Please let your indexers know to not allow such lazy uploads. You can also try adding Film 2017 & Film 2016 to your restrictions.
