Radarr: Should Downloaded Movies Scan be Disabled?

Created on 6 Apr 2017  Â·  14Comments  Â·  Source: Radarr/Radarr

After movies are downloaded, moved, the status of the movie is not changing the status to downloaded unless I run a manually scan. I'm not sure if this is in relation to the unmonitored issue. I am on the nightly version of Radarr - 0.2.0.573.

if you guys are referring to "Downloaded Movies Scan" on the tasks page:
image

this corresponds to "Drone Factory" is will be disabled if the drone factory interval is set to 0... This has nothing to do with the regular downloading of radarr - it only corresponds to "Drone Factory" which is not the reccomended way of importing movies.

17-4-4 17:40:12.5|Warn|DiskScanService|Movies' root folder (C:\Volumes\Untitled\Movies) doesn't exist.

Check your folder setup because radarr can't scan your movies root folder.

Thank you for the reply. That was from when I was running Radarr on the Mac
then switched to Windows.
I looked through the paths and that root folder is not there in Radarr that
I can see.
Is there a way to manually remove that path or can I trick it by creating
that folder on the root of C like it is?
Or should I just go with a reinstall of the software and start from scratch
since I came from a different OS?

Have you checked movies->movie editor. Then select all movies and change the root folder to your new folder. That page is paginated so you will have to check all of the individual pages of movies that you have.

temp

H:\Movies is a external hard drive. That is where all of my movies are
pointed to. All of the movies show their path being "H:\Movies\Movies_Name"
Should I change all of the movies to "C:\Volumes\Untitled\Movies"?

No. If all your movies are on H:\Movies then as the path is named is fine. Just ensure that all of the movies are listed properly on all pages.

All the movies are pointed to the correct path, but is there a way to
enabled the downloaded movies scans or change that path it's looking at?
The only way to mark the movie as downloaded is if I manually hit the
rescan disk button after the movie has downloaded.

I don't have that issue on my setup, and haven't seen it on others so I'd guess it has something to do with your particular setup that is causing it.

Looking at the more recent entries, I see

17-4-6 08:15:05.9|Warn|PreDBService|Non 200 StatusCode Forbidden encountered while searching PreDB.
17-4-6 08:15:06.0|Warn|DiskScanService|Movies' root folder (H:\Movies) is empty.

Have you unplugged the external hdd? Radarr might not be changing them to downloaded because as far as it can see the file is missing if the hdd is unplugged.

I could send you the logs from last night and this morning. I had a movie
download last night and two this morning. They got pulled from Radarr and
were transferred to the external hard drive. At the time of the log, it is
possible that it was empty since I transferred those movies to the cloud to
be used with Plex Cloud.

radarr.txt
The log above is from the new install.
I deleted the Radarr folder in C:\ProgramData and started fresh. I
downloaded the version from the pre-release on radarr.video. Then I updated
it to the nightly upgrades. The downloaded movies scan is coming up
disabled as well.

Same here. Still disabled after reinstall.

if you guys are referring to "Downloaded Movies Scan" on the tasks page:
image

this corresponds to "Drone Factory" is will be disabled if the drone factory interval is set to 0... This has nothing to do with the regular downloading of radarr - it only corresponds to "Drone Factory" which is not the reccomended way of importing movies.

I would suggest that there be an option for an automated movie scan then.

Multiple times now I have manually imported a torrent download that was rar'd only to have Radarr download it again via usenet a day later.

I don't believe Radarr supports rar'd files at this time so that is why they will be getting redownloaded.

Depending on your download client you should be able to have it extract the files to a different folder on completion, then have the drone factory set up for the extracted files location and it should work.

Deluge and utorrent can both do it I believe. Not sure on others.

Thank you for the help guys. You have answered my question on about the
downloaded movies scan being disabled.
