Created on 2 Oct 2019  路  4Comments  路  Source: rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server

Queue index metrics are missing vhost & queue labels:

rabbitmq_queue_index_read_ops_total 0
rabbitmq_queue_index_write_ops_total 579
rabbitmq_queue_index_journal_write_ops_total 422341

Almost half of the graphs displayed on the RabbitMQ-Overview dashboard cannot be filtered by vhost.

From the 10 top panels, 4 cannot be filtered by vhost:

  • queues
  • connections
  • channels
  • nodes

From the 7 rows, 4 cannot be filtered by vhost:

  • NODES
  • QUEUES
  • CHANNELS
  • CONNECTIONS

Since almost half the graphs cannot be filtered by vhost, it would be confusing to add such a filter in this dashboard. It would make more sense to introduce another dashboard, which only contains graphs that can be filtered by vhost.

Which vhost-specific metrics would you find most useful to have in a dashboard @srm2020 ?

I think messages_ready_* are also missing queue and vhost labels.

Hello guys
any news about this topic?
We have the same challenges as @gerhard and @srm2020.
Double checking the metrics, we also confirmed that vhost is not informed in all those metrics
