Possibility to change the default search engine when you "right click" --» "search text of the web"
It open text in duckduck go
Add other search engines that respect privacy... Startpage, Qwant, etc
Thank you for your suggestion.
😃
I am currently working on this issue , what search engine should i add ?
Awesome. @ron-popov! I guess DuckDuckGo, Google, Bing and Yahoo would be plenty.
If you really want to go crazy you could also let the users add their own url... ;)
Yes I would be great to add own url (qwant , startpage , ecosia, etc)
Oh, thanks ;-)
@ron-popov did a great job!
There now is a new release, could you please test it and report if it works for you?
17.10.6 allows me to select search engine, and they work as intended. It's great to have this option. However, @bepolymathe was after some other privacy–oriented engines, such as startpage.
Just poste the search URLs and the names and I will add them.

According to the startpage support center, the URL to their search engine is the following:
https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=%s
Is this the kind of search URLs you need?
Yes, it works very well! Thank you very much @ron-popov . DDG, Qwant and Startpages is a great cocktail for the user to choose from...
If we want to go further, another option, for more specific needs, would be to be able to directly complete a field with the desired URL. For example, I am an historian or economist and I have a search engine specific to my job... I could add it.
It would be useful to me, but I don't know if it's useful to everyone.

@bepolymathe, don't forget that you could do all that and more with the scripting engine... ;)
Yes it's true; -) You're really going to make me work on this one day...

Tested. Working
Great, thank you for testing!
