If someone sends a one letter message, the current text bubble style results in a circle. This causes confusion because the text bubble then looks like a default avatar.
This could be remedied by offering the option to use a different bubble style. See Textra as an example.
Here is an example. The "D" is a default avatar, the "K" is a text bubble. If the text bubble had a tail, then it wouldn't look so much like an avatar. It might help if avatars and text bubbles used different background colors.

And yes, I do get real text's containing just the letter K, especially from my teenage kid. :)
