Qbittorrent: Autostart minimized to SysTray while retaining minimize to panel functionality.

Created on 6 Mar 2013  路  4Comments  路  Source: qbittorrent/qBittorrent

Please create a way to autostart Qbittorrent minimized to systray (not showing in the panel) while retaining functionality of minimizing to panel when clicking on the minimize button.

Tixati has this function built in (autostart hidden in tray) as well as Deluge and Transmission. Personally I think this is a needed feature and would greatly add to Qbittorrents feature set.

I'd like the _same command line argument as uTorrent_: /MINIMIZED (or --minimized)
That would make it possible to use Windows Task Scheduler to start qBittorrent minimized
(but not to Tray) while retaining normal manual startup behavior.

i'd like to emphasize that this should be the ability to AUTOstart in tray, while keep the ability to start it manually not minimized. this could be done, e.g. by adding a command line key --minimizetotray
and therefore, the user will add the autostart command qbittorrent --minimizedtotray while the manual startup will not minimize it. OR it may be done like it is in Remmina: they just added a checkbox "start Remmina in tray icon at user logon" in preferences, while manual start keeps opening its window as usual.

This would be great. However i'd like to see an option to autostart minimezd to SysTray only at boot.

The command line argument would also be great for that, like @JNavas2 suggested.

btw, under the hood, remmina's autostart option is implemented the same way - via command line key
