Hello @AwesamLinux, there's a good chance there's a missing video or cutscene based on warn:module:load_dll Failed to load module L"mfplay.dll"; status=c0000135
in the log.
@kisak-valve yea I did see that too in the logs, so I examined the files.
I could not find anything amongst the game's files that look like videos (or video files with "wrong" extension or any obvious repackaged videos). The game as far as I can tell only uses real-time cut-scenes (compared my experience with a youtube windows playthrough and did not spot a difference).
So if there is an actual video that is not played, I reckon it must be a short clip of a logo or something.
@kisak-valve I had a chat with one of the developers about this:
Q: Does the game in any way use pre-rendered videos for anything?
A: No. None at all :) All is real - time
Q: Great thanks, just to clarify even some tiny video like a logo or something they would like to know about to be sure it is 100% working
A: We have no video logos in Unforgiving. Only still images.
So that is what Angry Demon Studio answered on their discord (the discussion can be seen in the support section) :)
