Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-
  • Steam AppID of the game: 376300

System Information

I confirm:

  • [x] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

A compatibility report does exist but it's closed so I'm assuming that doesn't count.
The following steam log is when the nod3d11 option is disabled: steam-376300.log

Symptoms

~1) Game crashes without the nod3d11 option.~
2) The PS4 controller does not work on wireless mode, only when connected with a cable.

Reproduction

~1) Play the game without the nod3d11 option.~
2) Try using the PS4 controller in wireless mode.

EDIT:
Issue (1) does not occur anymore. Vulkan was not properly installed in my machine.

Distro: Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa (64 bit)
GPU: Vega 56
Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 19.1.0-devel/9.0.0
Kernel version: 5.1.1-050101-lowlatency
Proton version: 4.2-3

system_info.txt

Problems observed with the game:

  1. Game always starts minimized (tested with Proton 3.16-4, 3.16-9, 4.2-3), so you have to click the icon in the taskbar to bring the game up. Video capture of this happening:
    376300.mp4.zip
  1. On Proton 4.2-3 game does not work in Fullscreen, seems to be a regression
  2. In steam-376300_proton-4.2-3.log I launch the game, play for a bit and then try to change from windowed to fullscreen and game gets stuck in a window with a static image.
  3. In steam-376300_proton-4.2-3_notlaunch.log, I have set the game to Fullscreen on an older Proton version, then try to launch it with Proton 4.2-3 and game does not launch, steam just says running for a while then nothing happens.

In the steam-376300_proton-3.16-4.log and steam-376300_proton-3.16-9.log I just launch the game and verify that fullscreen is working.

Additional info:

  • Nintendo Switch Pro controller over bluetooth worked with every Proton version
  • I did not experience any problems with the videos (I believe that nightsky30 who reported random crash on first time video playback in #1996, likely encountered a problem unrelated to the codec and playback. I think this game can probably be removed from issue #1464).

Hello @unit73e, err:vulkan:wine_vk_init Failed to load libvulkan.so.1. and err:vulkan:wine_vk_init Failed to load Wine graphics driver supporting Vulkan. in the log hints that you don't have a working vulkan driver.

Please verify you have the vulkan-radeon and lib32-vulkan-radeon packages and any vulkan application like vulkaninfo from vulkan-tools works.

Hello @kisak-valve . Seems like it.

I have both vulkan-radeon and lib32-vulkan-radeon packages installed.
Here is my vulkaninfo output: vulkaninfo.txt

Since you have the steam runtime disabled, maybe also check vulkan-icd-loader and lib32-vulkan-icd-loader?

@kisak-valve seems like you were quicker than me. The problem was indeed not having lib32-vulkan-icd-loader installed. Thanks.
