Proposal-pattern-matching: Champion update

As of today's TC39, I'm currently the champion of this proposal.

My plan is to spend the time between now and the next meeting to familiarize myself with the proposal, and do issue/PR housekeeping, and then to give a more substantive update at that meeting.

In a future meeting after that, I will attempt to seek stage 2, assuming committee feedback and the champion group are aligned.

At the moment, the following delegates have indicated interest in co-championing:

and some have indicated interest in helping, without being a co-champion:

Comment if you're a delegate and interested in helping! In the next week or three, I'll put together a champion group call with interested folks, and we can get on the same page about things.

I'm interested in championing, but fair warning that I think the proposal needs to move in a different direction if you'd be open to discussion there.

@ljharb and @DanielRosenwasser and others working on this: I think this proposal requires some really hard work that a lot of people wanted done but that wasn't being actively worked on.

fwiw, I think it's really good for JS and the community that @zkat's research work isn't lost and that this area can be explored more. Thank you!

reasonable to me, really should reconsider difference between value/expression match or "pattern" match

(coincidentally exactly three weeks later) did the group call get scheduled? is there anything I - or any of us - can do to help wrangle schedules, poke folks for responses?

No, it did not :-) i was planning to send it out last week, but layoffs intervened. I'll send out a doodle shortly.

@texastoland theres no status update yet, and the proposal’s still pretty early, but there will be ways to contribute in the future :-)
