Prestashop: unable to login on backend PS 1.7.6.1

Yesterday we were able to login on PS, this morning , try to login in back office result in a redirect to login page again.

No message show in console. Debug mode enabled, no entry in dev.log on exception.log.

On the same server other PS 1.7.6.1 work good.

Hi @matteolavaggi,

Here are some things you can try :

1/ Clear your browser cache and your cookies

2/ Check PS_SHOP_DOMAIN and PS_SHOP_DOMAIN_SSL in ps_configuration table

3/ Manually clear smarty cache: remove all files from /var/cache/

4/ Disable the IP check in classes/Cookie.php (this can cause many issues with dynamics IP)

5/ Into the path /PROJECT_FOLDER/classes/controller/AdminController.php, replace 900 to 3600 which increases the log-in period from 15 to 60 minutes.
replace this:
if ($this->context->cookie->last_activity + 900 < time()) {

By this:

if ($this->context->cookie->last_activity + 3600 < time()) {

Hi, after many try the more easy and easy solution, clear all browser cookie.

BTW from what this is cause? and how we can mitigate this for our customer? today i'm not able to login or use cart both front and back end, but how solve this for our customer that has same problem and dont know to clear browser cookie?

Actually, I remember running into this problem with Prestashop even on 1.6. It was random and unpredictable, but I figured it only affects sessions where you are logged into the BO, so clients should not experiece this issue. I think you need to have both FO and BO cookies in the same browser and multiple admin tabs open simultanously to trigger this glitch. I ran into it a couple of times on my 1.7 also, but clearing cookies worked every time. As it happens very rare and random, I couldn't replicate it to further investigate.

I ran into this problem as well for 5 min ago. Clearing cookies solved the problem.

Clear cookie solve the problem, btw we where unable to identify the root
cause of the issue that affect every user that has a logged in session
station on the backoffice.
I think it can "easy" integrate a BO login page function that can check for
some corrupted cookies and show an allert on login fail attempt or store a
log in the exception log to allow site administrator find and debug issue
faster.
