faceted search price slider does not show nor does the limit to "5" work so you end up with a bunch of selection boxes for a whole range of products. it should be a slider as the module indicates

Besoin de taf PM+design pour specs

Hello,
Much better having a slider, as on PS 1.6 !
This ticket is clear enough, in my opinion.
Why status says "To be Specififed" ?
Just need a slider as on PS 1.6, please find attached a pic.
Thank you

Please, have a look at this pic: PS 1.6 price slider instead of check boxes.

Hi Malemi,
We actually need design (UI and behaviour) specs before developing it.
This comment has been migrated from the Forge. Read the original comment here.
Thank you Guillaume,
It is just a price slider, we do not need a "deep" IU, we just need a simple price to be slided
Might you please indicate how long it will take or scheduled steps?
Greetings!
PS: Why not changing this ticket to a different Status instead of "TO BE SPECIFIED" ?

Hi Malemi,
I agree there are not much design specs to do but still...
It is also a matter of what code was already implemented in the Classic Theme.
At worse it could take 2 months, but if you're willing to contribute then we could split the tasks : we provide you with the specs and coding recommendations and you develop it. Would you be ok with that ?
Guillaume

Is there sincerely no goal to fix this issue? This is available in Prestashop 1.6, and should be added to 1.7 ASAP, especially where it says directly in the module interface that this item should be a slider. You cannot just drop core functionality from your eCommerce platform and expect people to keep using it.

Any news for this issue? I want to have slider instead of list of range, but no solution except this bug report.

Any update since Jun?

At this point, I would not expect a solution to this issue. There is a paid module that does what Prestashop core should do, which seems to be the new policy as of Prestashop 1.7.
It appears any users looking to have a good eCommerce system out of the box, and not spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on modules to accomplish previously included features, have been forgotten and abandoned.

Yes, I have the same problem... I was googling and I saw in 1.6.0.11 had a similar problem with this component... http://sobreprestashop.blogspot.com.es/2015/02/modulo-bloque-de-navegacion-por-facetas-no-muestra-slide-precio-en-prestashop.html
I think this is something basic, and should be fixed with maximum priority.

Hello,
Me cannot understand why this important bug keeps unresolved.
As Patric says, PrestaShop wants us to buy a paid module ?
New policy as for PS 1.7. maybe yes, I have seen so many functionalities currently on 1.6 and not being adopted on 1.7,
Bad news, that case I would prefer going WooCommerce or directly Shopify.
End of PrestaShop wisdom ?

Maybe its a good option, my suppliers offer more facilities with Woocommerce and Shopify, maybe we should at least study it, because something like this is so basic...

Hi Ivan, exactly, 100% with you !
Cannot drop functionalities we already have on PS 1.6, big mistake from PrestaShop.
I would remind the history of vBulletin.
vBulletin was the most used forum script.. as they switched to Version 5 they lose all the market... they drop lot of previous functionalities
PrestaShop on the same way ?
Hope not

Hi guys,
It's not (only ) a question of selling modules. If we provide something free, we want it working. So we have to fix it.
It's more a question of prioritization, and we still have some before in our debug roadmap. But we don't forget this one
Thanks for your understanding !

Merci !

That is a good news.
Do not loose your way, PrestaShop.
Please, do not replicate vBulletin mistakes!

Without the slider the module is not serving it's purpose!
It's really sad that there is NO PROGRESS for 6 months now.

A more concerning thing is the bug where the prices don't even show on the faceted search filters.

On reprend donc exactement le comportement de la 1.6 mais avec un style différent, voir la première image.

Hi guys,
Â
So, design has been defined, we'll integrate it as soon as we can. Not in the 1.7.3.0 more probably in the following one.

Thanks !

Hi,
Sorry not yet, it is added to our bug roadmap.
There are some major issues to solve before this one.
So, it will probably not solved right now.
But PrestaShop is an open source project, so it can be solved before if someone submits a pull request to solve it.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards, Khouloud

Ok Khouloud BELGUITH, no problem
I just don't understand the logic about those price ranges.
How are they defined?
Example with random numbers:
1 ---10
11 ----20
21 — 30
Â
Why 10, 20, 30 ?

Hello, this has not been resolved 1.7.4.2.
Prices are not on slider or on ranges, but otherwise show Radio Button.
Any hope this will be fixed? Or any hint how to solve it?
Thanks,

Can you please make this a higher priority? This is a core feature that most people who use prestashop need to function properly...

Hi,

Hi,
This issue should be fixed in the next release PS1.7.6.
Thanks!
Hi,
Do you know when will be released the 1.7.6 ?
In few weeks / days, code freeze is on Friday
It´s been a YEAR, and this issue can´t be fix? Please just doit o take it off and ask the people to buy a module, but this is a lack of respect to the PrestaShop Community
Hi there, did you see the huge work being done on this topic on https://github.com/PrestaShop/ps_facetedsearch/pull/52 ? Your comment looks like you did not check.
Also please note that not having an issue fixed immediately (or in a fixed timeframe) does not mean that it won't be fixed, or that we don't care. It doesn't mean that the issue is NOT important either. It just means that other issues have been considered, for whatever reason, _more_ important, so they were (or are being) tackled first. There's an immense amount of work to be done (1067 issues right now, and growing!), and tasks take time.
Developer time is limited, so if the amount of issues opened in a certain timeframe exceeds the amount of issues that can be processed using the available developer time, tasks will simply pile up. This is common to ALL projects (for example today I was looking at https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon and they have 858 issues). Due to the number of pending issues, sometimes they may get lost in the pile and be forgotten about, so it's not a bad idea to ping us there from time to time to remind us about it, even if it's been a long while.
But here's the upside: PrestaShop is an open source, community project. If you find that any issue is critical for you, and it's important to have it fixed ASAP, then you can _invest_ into having it done. You can hire a developer to fix it, or if you are a developer yourself, you can try doing it on your own. The most important thing is to share that fix with everyone by submitting a Pull Request -- that's what the open source spirit is all about.
Glad to see this was finally taken care of! However after coming across what seemed to be bug after bug in the current release I ended up getting frustrated and switching to Magento months ago.

Magento has more issues than PrestaShop but less PR

All fluctuating numbers aside, the apparent lack of urgency regarding major issues such as this one was what caused me to look elsewhere. And to be honest, I'm glad I did. I have had almost zero issues with Magento.
@Klemart3D @Josh979 Please be aware that we use github as a project management system so we have some 400 issues which are actually feature requests / to-be-done tasks, not bugs ^^ you can use the labels to have a deeper view. I dont know for Magento, might be the same.

Sorry about that, indeed first 1.7 versions had a lot of issues (meaning: bugs). However to ensure this does not happen again, we now have an extended full month-long public beta period for new minor versions. With 1.7.5.0, we used this extra time to gather feedback and bug reports from contributors and partner agencies. This is the longest beta period we ever did. We think this helped a lot to stabilize and consolidate this new version.
We also added a lot of unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests (and still add more !) and the Pull Request merge process is now a lot tougher with CI being run, code review, QA review, PM review, UX review, all of this to ensure all modifications to the codebase are for the best and do not introduce bugs (but we all know there will always be bugs, alas!). By the way that also make PRs longer to merge but we think it's worth it.
If you're curious about the results, feel free to check latest release 1.7.5 . 1.7.6 is on its way and will benefit from the same process in order to make sure we ship it with as few bugs as possible and that the bugs that would escape this huge quality check are minor ones.
Hi,
This issue should be fixed in the next release PS1.7.6.

hi @khouloudbelguith

Hello @nirav-nanda
It has been fixed in this PR https://github.com/PrestaShop/ps_facetedsearch/pull/52 but the module isn't yet released and isn't included in PrestaShop 1.7.6.0 beta
thank you @marionf for the great news.
