Dragging a window should show me the layout I configured in the editor.
Dragging a window only shows me the default layout for each monitor, not the layout I configured in the editor. No amount of clicking "Apply" or messing with the layout editor fixes this. I have also restarted my computer to see if this would fix the problem. It didn't. I also tried deleting the FancyZones folder in PowerToys' AppData folder, to no success.
I frankly don't understand how this went unnoticed. This is a basic functionality of FancyZones. Did you not test them in this build at all?
I can confirm I see the same behavior.

PowerToys version: v0.27.0 and v0.28.0
PowerToy Utility: FancyZones
Running PowerToys as Admin: Yes

This may be the same as https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/8339
@miss-programgamer
what is your pc/monitor configuration?
Are you running a laptop with external monitor?
Same question for @srijan @Hardtmuth.
Yes, it looks like it might be the same issue.
I'm running a laptop with external monitor, with only the external monitor enabled. I'll try the steps mentioned in that ticket.
Thanks.
Same situation. Custom templates do not work as well as original templates. Works only 3 grid which was set before. 3440x1440 external monitor. v 27 and v28 tested. Both do not work.
Thanks
Now, I'm running a desktop pc with one monitor, the problem appeared when I connected an additional monitor
@enricogior
Yes, I'm running a laptop where the builtin monitor is unused and I have two external monitors side-by-side.
Please update to 0.27.1 (using the check for update button in the settings or downloading the installer https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases/download/v0.27.1/PowerToysSetup-0.27.1-x64.exe)
Closing the issue for now, please reopen it if it still reproduce with 0.27.1.
Thanks.
