Windows build number: 1909 (18363.836)
PowerToys version: 0.18.2
PowerToy module for which you are reporting the bug (if applicable): Powertoys Run
Alt+Space
Search for "Bildschirmtastatur" or "winver" for example
Bring up the on-screen keyboard or the windows version dialogue.
"Bildschirmtastatur" can't be found in PowerToysRun, only a search via the start menu does.
Although it can be found if the application already is running and has been started via the start menu (see second screenshot)
Also winver can only be started from the start menu, as typing winver in PowerToysRun does only bring up system administrative tools.

hi @naobug, what language is Bildschirmtastatur? We believe its the on-screen keyboard, just making sure. If so, it seems like a localization issue because we can find the on-screen keyboard in an EN setting
@saahmedm
The language is german. Have the same problem.
Please look at the tracker #4146 and the issue #4145.
Yes, this is the on-screen keyboard which I use for learning/typing arabic.
It's on a German Windows 10 installation.
@naobug
FYI: winver is a command and you have to type > winver. But I think if we have implemented #4200 you should be able to find it without '>'.
May I just quickly ask, what's the goal with this alt+space search bar implementation if I can just hit the windows key and search from there? Will the PowerToysRun way of searching things sooner or later replace the search via the startmenu?
Thank you, the > winver works
I am having the same problem. I tried searching for Snip & Sketch but only the old Snipping Tool shows up in its place.

However, if the program is running, then it is detected.

@Agnij-Mallick
Which language?
What is showing if you search for sketch or screen?
I am using English (UK). I am using Windows 10 Home Single Language. The build is 2004.
As far as verifying whether changing the keywords works or not, the results are the same:

After the first 5 results, it is showing some files.

Interesting. For me it is showing (only german name).
Can you find "Alarms & Clock" app?

It does seem to be able to find the AppData folder for Screensketch.

@Agnij-Mallick
The only idea I have is to check if snip & sketch is listed in the cache file: %localappdata%\microsoft\powertoys\powertoys run\cache\uwp.cache
@htcfreek I could not find snip & sketch. I am using the Find tool in notepad.

I have used a few variations, namely: snipping, snip, snip & sketch, screensketch. screen. All had the same result.

So the app is not indexed. Interesting.
Please close PowerToys, delete cache folder and then start PowerToys.
After waiting a moment please try to find snip & sketch in PT Run.
@htcfreek Thanks a lot. That got it working. Keywords like 'snip', 'snip & sketch', and 'sketch' are all working.

@saahmedm
I think we can close this because it's w duplicate of the problems in #4145 and #4200. Thoughts?
