PowerToy module for which you are reporting the bug: Settings
Device: HP Notebook, product number X7T77UA
Settings
)The main settings page should scroll as normal (if it's long enough, which it is on my device).
The main settings page does not scroll.
Overview:
| Method | Functional? |
|------|-----------|
| Mouse wheel | ✔️ |
| Touchscreen | ✔️ |
| Touchpad (two fingers) | ❌ |
After connecting my wireless mouse, scrolling with its wheel works as expected. While the mouse is connected, however, touchpad scrolling still does not work.
Also, the same issue was originally present in the PowerToys Run results list, but is solved as of at least v0.25.0.
I can't repro this with either a mouse or trackpad
Tested on two laptops and on a Logitech keyboard that has a trackpad, I can't reproduce the probem.
Interesting. It could be hardware-specific somehow - I'm on a three-year-old HP Notebook, if that helps any.
Is there someone else with an HP Notebook who could try to reproduce this?
i have a surface and logitec mouse, both 'just work'
tried a few different permutations around what has focus and it seemed work.
I haven't tried it with the PT settings window out of focus.
Just to be sure about mouse issues, I connected my wireless mouse, then closed and reopened PT. That didn't help, nor did running PT in elevated mode. I'm sorry I can't provide more insightful reports -- Windows apps are not an area of experience for me.
Again, this seems like it might be a hardware thing rather than an PT issue per se. If someone else with an HP laptop could check on this, that could potentially illuminate the problem further.
Yeah, I got a touch screen too (MS Surface pro 4, the be specific) and absolutely no problem here :)
Oh, I actually have a touchscreen too -- I just never use it. Let me see...
Scrolling does work using my touchscreen. So, at this point, things look like this:
Method | Functional?
-------|------------
Mouse wheel | ✔️
Touchscreen | ✔️
Touchpad (two fingers) | ❌
Also, this continues to be an issue with v0.18.1.
Repro'd on a spectre x360 late 2k17
18/18.1
product id is 2LU96UAR
I edited 3772 to add some details before it was closed as a duplicate, but it doesn't seem to have kept the edit.
Anyway, every time Powertoys updates, the two finger scroll on the Lenovo touchpad breaks without fail. This is for any app that has a scroll sidebar. The touchscreen scroll still works fine though. Also, the touchpad control of the mouse pointer goes very erratic - sometimes very laggy, as if it's struggling to process the input. Whenever this happens, I know the machine is going to be unusable until I reboot, and once I've done that it's absolutely fine (until the next time I update Powertoys).
So for me at least, it's not PowerToys _per se_ breaking the touchpad, it's the act of updating. I've tried opening the PT settings dialogue as described in the current ticket, and this does not give me a problem - so 3772 and 3440 may not be the same issue.
I experience this bug on my HP Pavilion - 15-au639tx. This is present in PowerToys Settings as well as PowerToys Run.
I am seeing scrolling issues on my laptop. Cannot scroll with touchpad using two finger scroll, nor can I scroll using my mouse wheel.
Can only scroll by using the pointer to grab the scrollbar and drag.
Scrolling works fine in all other applications.

Seems like similar symptoms to a bug that was recently fixed in Windows Terminal. https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/979

Thanks for pointing it out.
@kneelesh48 I hadn't thought of checking PT Run, but the issue is present there for me as well.
both are inside xaml islands for results currently.
Think we may have a lead here, Terminal may have a fix
Update: The PT Run results list scrolls properly since as least v0.25.0! It's not smooth scrolling (i.e. it jumps by the height of one result each time), but the scrollbar provides the same behavior.
@crutkas I should have specified this earlier, but pages in the PT Settings window still (v0.25.0) do not scroll properly using a touchpad. Since this issue is not completely resolved, could you reopen it?
