@kennyrowe hiya! Just looking through past issues -- what were you running into that you wanted to remove this? (I know that it breaks usage of yarn, but that shouldn't affect this, since we use npm.)

This can indeed be removed, the code is related to contributor agreement, which has been replaced by attributing copyright to the authors. Thanks @patcon and @kennyrowe

(Caveat: the PR to remove this must also take into account, of course, any downstream dependencies or configuration which looks for it)

I'm feeling like this issue qualifies as a great first-timers-only issue: not urgent, easy, probably fast. Will bring that convo to a new ticket, but hoping to leave this earmarked for that future first-timer ;)
