Pods: Pods shown in the Admin even if the user has no that capabilty

Issue Overview

I created a role that can create/view/edit/delete specifics Pods. I gave him no capabilities to manage Pods, but in the Admin UI the Pods page is shown.

Expected Behavior

When user with no Pods capabilities enters the Admin UI, the Pods entry shouldn't be shown.

Current Behavior

When user with no Pods capabilities enters the Admin UI, the Pods entry is shown.
Attempts to edit Pods, though, give a DB error.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1. Create a role "Coordenador Nacional"
2. Create a Custom Type "Cidade"
3. Give to "Coordenador Nacional" only the capabilities to CRUD Cidade
4. Create a user with role "Coordenador Nacional"
5. Login in the Admin page as that user
6. See if Pods entry appears in the left side menu.

Hi I couldn't reproduce your issue - do you have any additional other code running? maybe any object caching? shouldn't interfere but who knows ^^

The only one is the functions.php of my child theme (attached with the style sheet).
I experienced the same behaviour, though, even on another site where I use the TwentySeventeen them without modification.

I checked again in the (soon to be) production site and the Admin does not show the Pods menu when no user capabilities are given for that role.
I will investigate on what is going on with my code…

Just a question: I’d expect at least the admin to see the Custom Types menu, and this is not the case. Maybe some settings got lost in the Pods import?

If you enable custom capabilities even the admin role needs to be setup for that! e.g try removing the posts capabilities and see posts vanishing from admin menu - that's default WP Core Design!

I keep on seeing something weird. I am now working on the clean installation that does not show the Pod Admin entry to non-admins.
I gave CRUD capabilities to a role and the menu items don’t show up in its menu.
I gave ALL capabilities to that role and still no menu items are shown.
What’s that?

I swept clean the installation, set up with some more order roles and capabilities and the behaviour is as expected.
I guess it had to do with some conflicting capabilities.
