General information

Files exported to local library don't play

Addon version used

14.1 and 14.2
tested on 14.0.beta 22 and all works fine

Description

When trying to play movie/show exported to the local library it won't play, showing error:
"failed to convert input type to either to std::string or std::vector..."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. start kodi
  2. start netflix addon
  3. export movie/show to local library
  4. play exported file from local library

Expected behavior: file would play

Actual behavior: kodi shows error message "failed to convert input type to either to std::string or std::vector..."

Context (Environment)

same issue on android as well as on windows, clean instal of kodi with netflix addon isssue not present on old build 0.14.0 beta 22

Hi,

I can confirm the issue with 14.2. It appeared at commit https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix/commit/b760a6e1e829cb535a9a4335edb708bbf5c67ddc (tested just right now, and previous commit is working as expected)

There is no problem with 14.1.

@ciwy85 I recommand you install again 14.1, don't open the addon, just go into the addon settings, then expert and select "Purge in-memory and on-disk cache". Wait until a "Cache cleared" message pops-up. Then restart your computer.

It should work again as it did for me. I suspect you got an error with 14.1 because of Kodi view cache.

@CastagnaIT I don't think it's related to Kodi version nor platform because ciwy85 is running Kodi 18.2 under Windows 10 x64, and I'm running Kodi 18.1 under LibreELEC 9.1 for Rapsberry.

I had the same error after the update went back to 14.1 that fixed it. I am using the latest 18.3 nightly on Android (nvidia Shield).

I have similar problems, but with every video playback and not only with exported files.
Tested on Arch and LibreELEC.

I can also confirm that a rollback to 14.1 solves the problem.

@padok in your logs, the example shows the movie IS exported , see the line containing "Got fileinfo from library".

You should not experience this issue with any other movie. If so, please fill a new bug report.

@Smeulf Oh, I guess I got that wrong. I had assumed it makes the difference if you start from file or directly from the addon. Yes all explicitly not exported media work.
