Plots2: Using open graph meta tags to generate link previews on social media

When sharing links to Public Lab articles on social media (Facebook and Twitter, mainly), the link previews don't generate properly.

When sharing articles from regular news sites on social media, the link preview will share the headline, a snippet of text, and an image from the article (see first example). Sharing a Public Lab link shares the headline, sometimes shares a snippet of text, and never shares the image (see second example).

I know this can be managed through Open Graph tags but don't know how to make that work site-wide: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices#tags

Testing for link previews on Facebook can be done with the Sharing Debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Testing for link previews on Twitter can be done with the Twitter Card Validator:
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
