This is not a rant, its information all passers by are not going to find buried in some post and people keep posting bug reports to absolutely no end.

We hope that @github will finally add a built-in terminal to Atom as VSCode did.
We don't plan to develop this package anymore because are working on the moving to VSCode.
We are open for PR and will try to maintain existing functionality for the new Atom versions.
Im posting this because Im reading more and more bug reports that can be fixed with a unistall/reinstall of the
Also many PR's open for a long time and no one is merging them or even reviewing them, and this means no one has interest in maintaining project.

This will probably never happen, and its why we need a FORK of platformio-atom-ide-terminal

We aren't going to be building a terminal emulator into Atom. We agree that it is something that is very useful for some workflows but it isn't something that we'll be investing our limited resources into building and maintaining. We would much rather concentrate on making a great editor and leave terminal emulators to others who have the interest and expertise for them.
That was closed as wontfix.
Just a note:
I've been maintaining a fork for the past 1,5 years and I'm looking for volunteers to help there. Let's keep the spirit of pio-terminal active!

@Fred-Barclay you should port many things from here to there. That should keep you busy, when you done that Ill stop using this :)
Thank you so much for all contributions! v2.8.2 is out! 馃憤
@ivankravets that's great news! My biggest issue with PIO terminal was that I felt the design didn't fit what I wanted (I was used to your upstream, terminal-plus), which led to my fork in 2016. I'm also a bit concerned now if this project won't be actively developed.

Terminus - https://github.com/bus-stop/terminus worked for me on Ubuntu 20.04 running Atom 1.53.0 with Node.js v15.x.
