Look, this error is even explained in their documentation:

To increase readability and ease parsing should the tag be terminated with a double closing brace

@mvriel, could you elaborate on the reasoning behind that decision?

Also, how about changing that? Let's deprecate {@internal [description]}} in favour of {@internal [description]}. Would you be interested in a PR?
