If some talented individual could cook up a vector logo (SVG) for pelican users and their themes, we could proudly show a "Generated by Pelican" icon. :bird:
Just an idea, perhaps something like http://openclipart.org/detail/26579/pelican-with-fish-by-johnny_automatic
Please pick a simple image, one that can be distinguised even at 16x16 size ;)
Hah @ssbarnea, if all that was needed was to shrink an image I'd be able to take care of that myself. This is where the design aspect comes into play .
Obviously! And if the requirements are so high, you may have to start from small and create a big one based on the small ones. There are reasons why the term pixel-art appeared :)

How about using a pelican foot shape instead? maybe an orange one, it could fit well on small sizes
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7166/6603741923_8f4f8ab545_z.jpg
http://jrcompton.com/photos/The_Birds/J/Jan_07/JR60279-pellk-lip.jpg
Ooh those icons are cool, love the first one. If we could get something like that.. then.. well.. I'd be a happy person.
(Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant by your first comment. I fully agree. The desired output in my opinion would be the same style as FontAwesome (http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/ ))
?
Far too many details, simple things are the best. Let's go for a minimalist
icon/shape, this gives an important message to the users, regarding
usability...
Thenounproject pelican isn't that great. It doesn't even have a large bill.

at some point we were thinking about doing something like that (with the center of the "p" being a pelican) see http://cdn.minutebuzz.com/80AFE7/static-mb.minutebuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/logocreatif9.jpg
Early draft
Now we're cooking.
that's 16x16 or the worst case scenario.
You do also have the AI source for this https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8004159/temp/pelican.ai (obviously I can export it to svg).
A logo is a highly complex affair and I would like to see a nice one coming out from this discussion. It could be useful to use the colors of the Python logo (blue/orange) to link thus to the language. Fortunately, pelican profiles are easy to distinguish and recognize. I did a sketch (on paper) showing one possible idea: an origami pelican. It would link the "calepin" origin of the name to the logo:

I like the calepin and pelican profile idea!
The colors of python are yellow and blue (and not orange), but I'm not
sure we should reuse this color scheme because it's not particularly
great, so any combination of colors would work, I guess.
Thank you for the encouragement. I transformed the drawing to an svg file using Inkscape. In png it gives something like this:

I have uploaded the svg file on my U1 account: pelicanpowered svg.
The image remains reasonably visible at small size but special versions of the svg would be needed for different size ranges to adjust stroke size, shadows and gradient colors:

The inspiration for the origami drawing comes from open clipart.
And now for something completely different (using the Averia Serif font):

There is no pelican there, but the fish is scared by something. Smaller version:

To end the day, just another possible logo version based on the origami/folded paper idea (in two sizes - web optimized, under 10 kb kb):

Here is an idea based around the minimalist approach ametaireau mentioned.
Its still in development stages. Any feedback is welcomed.

It's good to have plenty of choice. I also tried something on the more minimalistic approach, this time based on tangram like assembly of pieces and two opening and closing brackets. Two sizes:

This is the first one that I would not be ashamed to add to a web page... - the previous attempts are a little bit too childish...
EDIT: worked a little bit the text part by borrowing the "p" and "n" from the python logo and using the Average Sans font with a few modifications (transparent png, web optimization will need some more work):

Can also work on dark backgrounds (bw version):

Some other variation, with better visibility at small size:

@cocofifi the origami idea is nice, put I would really love to have a logo on its own that is distinguishable, and I'm not sure it achieves this right now, especially at small size.
I like the idea to research a typo for pelican as well, but IMO it should come as a second step (e.g first the logo, then the typo etc.). BTW, I like the exploration with the p and n from python :-)
Maybe can you rework a bit the logo so it's easier to read it when it's small?
@hyperking same issue when the logo is too small, I guess.
@ametaireau - OK, now that I've learned what are the most distinguishing features when drawing a Pelican, I will try to find a convenient way to make it both original and easy to see at small size. We will need several versions of the svg drawing with less and less detail and more power in the line strokes for the smallest versions. In the meantime, I looked also at visibility through inversion, works pretty well but the drawing is still too complex:

For many logos, the text itself is part of the story (see IKEA, eBay, Barnes&Noble), but it is true that a graphical, elegant, image helps in instant recognition of a brand or site.
What about something completely different? Internet wisdom is such that the logo of a product should reflect a little bit its use or effect. Since Pelican was originally a blogging tool, I tried to combine the idea of writing (the very classical fountain pen nib) with the idea of a tool, or gear. A possible result, minimalist, usable at many sizes and somehow original (there are similar examples that I found on the web but not with a gear anyway):

Inverted colors (although I prefer the normal version:

@cocofifi Good idea. I was thinking in that direction myself. Here is an update on what I have. Would be better to hear feedback from every one.
My concept was to use the quill pen as a merge between the bird and writting instrument.
Concept 2 are using the brackets that are a reoccurring symbol in the code. The brackets also takes the form of a bird so I wanted to play around with this as well.
the other concepts where around the notepad idea using the lines on the paper to suggest the letter "P".

@cocofifi really nice one, that's probably the one I prefer until now.
Looking at it a second time, I wonder if borrowing the p and n from python is an actual good idea. For us itmakes sense, because we know it, but I'm not sure people will get it, and if it changes the way people read the name p-elica-n, sort-of.
@hyperking the brackets are a recurring symbol… but in python we're not using them, or only for dicts.
1, 4 and 5 are nicely done, however I don't really get what it is from the logo.
For 1, maybe an inkstand could help to understand? For 4 & 5, I'm not sure how to improve.
@hyperking - I like very much number 2. I know that the curly braces are not the most salient feature of Python syntax but the idea is great and I like the symmetry it gives to the script. 4 and 5 might need to redimension the "page" to a less rectangular profile and maybe change the way the lines intersect (make some intersections rounded and others at an angle).
@ametaireau - agree on p and n, it's hard to tell where they are coming from. Just some small cosmetic changes to the initial version,

and with some text:

Edit: properly distanced for very small size (16 pixel high):

The transition is much better if the nib is horizontal but the icon is easier to distinguish if it is slanted. The font is Magra (http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Magra), under open font licence. I'm grateful to hank0071 for his or her drawing of the cogwheel (http://openclipart.org/detail/169903/gear-by-hank0071).
A version for very small sizes of the logo:

Edit: afer uploading the last two, I almost have the impression of seeing a pelican head in these small versions of the logo - it's a lot of stretch of imagination but it's funny as it was not my intention.

Incorporating the P in the equation, I'm afraid it becomes too complex and looses elegance:

@ametaireau https://github.com/ametaireau - will take the ink well in
consideration. I spend most of my time templating so the curly braces are
how I associate pelican. It's a lot of fun!
@cocofifi - I like the horizontal version! Yet it falls apart when scaled
down. I'm looking at ways to incorporate the gear wheel since pelican is a
generator.
Simplicity is sometimes challenging...

@hyperking : You are right - it is hard to do something simple, memorable and scalable. My esteem for good designers is increasing each hour spent on this topic.
Updated the image with the horizontal version - not yet perfect but it is clear that scaling down text requires an increase in spacing between letters to keep lisibility.
Here are some more or less final drawings of the fountain-pen-cogwheel-pelican head logo:

Just to add back the "calepin" thing:

at some point we were thinking about doing something like that (with the center of the "p" being a pelican) see http://cdn.minutebuzz.com/80AFE7/static-mb.minutebuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/logocreatif9.jpg

Ooh, I really like that one!
@dbrgn I agree that this concept is well executed. However, its probably being used by some other company since it was already created.
http://www.pelicanwater.com/
I think we should attempt to focus on key elements that best describe Pelican. Here are my thoughts.
other thoughts to be considered:
pelican means notebook
pelican is a sea fowl
Not sure who has final decision but I would like to hear feedback from everyone. Hopefully we could design something comparable
Ah, too bad it's already used.
I like animals as "mascots" for projects. The use of a pen is extremely cliché / boring / overused for this kind of stuff (although I like the look of the drafts).
Yeah, but Im not completely opposed to using the animal. I can try creating a cute cuddly bird like githubs catapus
Here are some quick sketches of pelican birds

the last bird is an attempt to build from the " { " idea from earlier.
Let me know what you think.
Using the idea of the engine and the pen, what do you think about having a pelican with a pen as a beak? If we see the pelican from a profile, that could be interesting?
@dbrgn - the P with the pelican silhouette in negative space is beautiful. However, it is too generic - it can apply to any kind of tool.
@hyperking - the curly bracket idea is "cute" - and logos need do be: indeed the octocat for github is great.
@ametaireau: just with a pen, not very cute:

but visible at quite small sizes:

If anyone knows how to increase the cuteness of pelicans without making them laughable - I would be happy to draw that.

Exploring cuteness (as I really did not like my own previous sketch).
"The only good pelican is a ... working ... pelican":

A version that is more dynamic:

@cocofifi Hard at work i see...I'm not sold on the beak as pen nib concept. I think it's a bit much and may be trying too hard to convey the message.
@ametaireau You mentioned in my earlier sketch that you had issues with understanding what "it does".. assuming you meant the logo doesn't tell you that this is a static site generator?
I think its not always the approach to be verbose in a design but to be clear and simple. I gather that this could probably go on forever until we really get serious about the goal.
Are we looking at using a bird, a notebook, a pen, a wing, a gear, or a design entendre ?
Here some variations using the "P" and incorporating everything mentioned above. and since everyone( myself included) loves this pelican design http://cdn.minutebuzz.com/80AFE7/static-mb.minutebuzz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/logocreatif9.jpg
I added the negative space approach to my batch of concepts. Please be constructive with feedback. Cheers
( disclaimer: these are just rough sketches and not final renderings )

I'm having fun but I see I'm not the only one :-)
My vote goes to the red P - I'm fond of the pen nib despite it being 'cliché'. The rest of the letters would need to be drawn with the same kind of character - not easy but definitely interesting to explore.
I think I might drop the nib - finally one can draw a funny pelican by it own.
@cocofifi Yeah, and i dont think anyone noticed the fish in the second bird drawing i did!
lol just subtle humor
Last for today: meet the "devilcan":

@cocofifi You lost me on that one. LOL! Here is my attempt using the pen as the bird head. I think it could work.
I may clean this one up. Let me know what you think.

Cleaned version of my prior sketches

The last concept can be either the pelican head alone or pelican head with pen as beak. I could do a silhouette as well.
Like to hear feedback on this. Cheers
@hyperking : I don't like the "contentment" of the pelican in this version. At small size, the nib becomes difficult to recognize and lacks personality.
I think we should have a kind of deadline, as I feel we could generate dozens and dozens of pictures without ever getting to the desired logo. Proof:

I agree, I'm postponing any more design until this issues get
More Attention.
I'm in favor of using my prior, but I think it's redundant to show a
pelican while the software is named pelican.
I think the design should be minimal, clean and modern
I think using ametaireau approach could marry the concepts well if executed
properly.
I'm more a designer than a programmer. I love using pelican. Just want to
contribute in some meaningful manner.
Many thanks to both of you, and everyone who contributed to this topic.
We have many directions that could be interesting here. I like some of
them and some of them less.
I'm not sure what kind of feedback I can provide to make things go
forward.
In general:
ccing @raphaelbastide, who had the idea of the ink beak, maybe he would
have some other feedback for this discussion
Drafts…

Inkscape source (temporary link)
Thank you everyone for the feed-back and ideas. It looked like none of us is completely comfortable with the pelican bird nor the pen. What's left is the "calepin"/notepad, paper, web site generation idea. The gear was not good enough as it was too generic. I love the icon for git - it is beautifully simple and easy to understand:

I took it and tried to make it into the idea of pages in a kind of tree (symbolism for a web site). It gives something like this:

Stand-alone version, two sizes:

Would something like this be appropriate ?
@raphaelbastide Nice work. I think our direction now is to "not use the bird". Its a good execution although the beak portion isn't intergated enough and seems to float away from the "p". But i get your approach in using implied lines.
@cocofifi the first concept is very clean, yet i reminds me of another app called "docpad". The other options are too busy i think. Should i look back at another earlier concept I shared using the note paper? and Is the gear out of the question too?
@ametaireau I could not understand your last reply concerning the "P" concepts.
I will probably submit something later if we could come to agree on a baseline concept.
What do you think?
@hyperking - I think it is interesting to explore the notepad for the web concept, especially if you already have some ideas. I have prepared a simpler and more "contained" version of the notepad tree website logo:

Maybe also using colors, to show themability would be useful.
It also reminds me of something I've seen elsewhere but cannot find it easily.
@cocofifi I think the smaller page icons on what appears to be a notebook is very busy. the sharp edges on the page icons your using is antiquated. I like the soft round edges your using for the pad. it gives it a modern feel.
keep in my that designing at a smaller ratio first helps keep things simple and helps you focus on important elements of the design.
Taking into account the great advice from @hyperking, some new variations (the tree reminds me of something, I'm sure it it not that original):

@cocofifi yeah gotreehouse.com! I like the spring loaded concept. not sure about the execution on the logo
Sorry if that was unclear.
From these:
I like n°1 and n°4.
@hyperking I _don't_ agree with the "don't use the pelican anymore" statement. That could make a really good logo. Although that's not the only direction to look at :)
@ ametaireau option one has already been used by another company.
Do you think it's redundant to illustrate a bird while the name says it
alone.
Pelican silhouette: check (negative space)
Small size visibility: check
Link with paper pages or notebook: check
Link with P: no
Original: possibly

Obsessive-compulsive behaviour in drawing logo candidates: double check
Thought about collecting most of the logo candidates until now, for those who are tired of following the whole discussion thread. Two sizes to see what happens. Any comments or feed-back or new ideas are welcome (or voting for your favorites):

I vote for P variations 1 to 5 and yellow bird. Those are the best.
I love the P variation 4.
I think I'd vote for P variations 1, 3 or 5.
@kylef requested that I made some logo as well, so i came up with a few variants. I'm really not sure about the font, but its all about the logo anyway. What do you guys think? :)

Wow, that looks quite awesome! I especially like the first version.
@iamDecode nice work.
@honzajavorek thanks
@ametaireau thanks.
@cocofifi Glad you made a comp of all the concepts. I was growing fast..and still is.
Here is a cleaned version of the version 4 "p" from an earlier draft.
Cheers! cant wait to see how it turns out

I really love the 3rd one on the left column @hyperking
Also love @iamDecode's version, thanks!
How should we proceed to chose and go forward on this?
Wow, what a thread, and yet @ametaireau wants more people into it!
I like the happy yellow bird and the P variation number 1 the most, for what it's worth.
Perhaps the "bird P colourful" if it was black... They put me in a particularly positive state of mind :)
@iamDecode that could be interesting to put wings on the pelican, in the circle, what do you think?
Well done, everyone. So many great logos make it tough to choose! For me, the primary criteria are (1) simplicity and (2) how it looks at very small sizes.
With those criteria as my guide, my favorite is the black silhouette.
Well, I like the black silhouette because it is very well done. However, it does not convey any information about what Pelican is - that logo could work as well for a fishing company or whatever else. Maybe it would be easier to use just a footer of the form:

which can be done by css styling, remains visible at any size and does not involve any image. Example of css used for the image (could be likely better but I'm no css expert):
.footer_banner {
margin-left: 1px;
padding: 0px 3px;
background-color: rgb(98, 98, 98);
color: white;
letter-spacing: 1px;
}
I don't really care about explaining what the project is with a logo. That's just a way to identify the project, nothing more. Having a logo that tries to do too much isn't a good idea, IMO.
Have a look at the logo of apple, firefox or grooveshark and you'll get what I'm thinking about.
@ametaireau the apple logo and grooveshark are minimal like iamdecode version. but firefox is more graphic.
I thought this issue was already concluded for the iamdecode concept...??
..i do have another iteration to present but It's outside the scope.
lol ...
http://s2.mbtcdn.com/company/logos/2c00f0eb00bec0a6c859ba7d497eb226897dcabf.png
so much for originality.
They use a bird in a circle. Not even a pelican. So what? :)
@ametaireau : "That's just a way to identify the project, nothing more". Right - we agree that the logo has to be "identifiable" as specific to the Pelican project. That implies that it has to be as far as possible froom a "generic" pelican image. If you have some pelican shown as a logo it will very likely not be something perceived as specific to the project.
Firefox has a fantastic logo which is linked with the function of the program as a world wide web browser - there is the Earth shown as the central element of the logo. Apple's actual logo is an oversimplified and beautiful version of a logo that evolved a lot over the years. Initially, the rainbow apple actually was used to show that the computers were able to use color displays. So it was not generic and actually implied something about the brand functionality. Now they don't need that any more.
You can simplify a logo that initially had a link with what the program does. But you cannot start with a generic logo if you want a "brand identity" or whatever they are called.
@cocofifi another caveat to apple's logo would be that it speaks volumes. The apple or "macintosh apple" has been revered as a symbol of education or knowledge. the bite could denote the piece of knowledge given to the biblical Mankind that awakened them to knowledge...it could be taken in many ways is all.
Brand identity can in fact start from a generic or simple image. There are no rules saying it can't.
@dbrgn yeah :+1:
@hyperking: "Brand identity can start from a generic or simple image". True, but the important word here is "start". And there is a long way from that simple image to a good and identifiable logo.
By the way, I love discussing logo design and reading stories like that of the famous arrow in the FedEx logo (see http://www.fastcodesign.com/1671067/the-story-behind-the-famous-fedex-logo-and-why-it-works) but I have the impression that we are going circles instead of reaching any kind of pragmatic decision. This does not bother me, since having a logo for Pelican is a lot less important than having a Pelican that works well, but still ...
Wow really nice work guys. Especially like @hyperking's yellow pelican logo. Awesome stuff.
@russkel thanks
@hyperking - I've seen you've changed your avatar image to the stylish P. I think that P with the bird is relatively easy to recognize by itself, is elegant and simple and can be also combined with the 'elican' part without problems. I propose that we decide on that one as the logo and open another discussion thread about the form of the complete text (font, ligatures, colors, etc). Nice work Derry!
@cocofifi: That logo is pretty but doesn't look like a Pelican to me.
There are many excellent candidates in this thread, which makes it tough — but it's also a nice problem to have.
So far the black silhouette seems to strike the best balance for me.
@cocofifi I wanted to live with something new for a bit, so i changed it...nothing grand. I'm for moving forward, but thats up to whomever i guess. I just wanted to contribute.
@justinmayer I like the black silhouette too although it resembles the aforementioned logo.
I like the idea by @hyperking because it resembles the paragraph symbol P at bit.
@samueljohn hmm your right! it kinda does huh.? ( unintentional ;-) )
As a side note: I would suggest to avoid any association with the http://www.pelikan.com company, so no pen in the logo.
yet another variation based from python logo...staying busy in downtime

@dbrgn @ametaireau @cocofifi
Any feedback welcomed on these variations as well. Really like to see something official for this repo.
Version 3 was made today as a progression from version 2. The colors can be changed ( no clue what to use )

I find it hard to see the pelican in 1, although I like the looks. Otherwise, I think I'd probably vote for 2 or 3. Or for @iamDecode's version 1.
@dbrgn really? How about these? sometimes being subtle is better than being explicit when branding.

@dbrgn Im liking option 3 now. Like to hear what everyone else thinks. Im feeling creative right about now :-)

Any movement on this?
I'd mostly favor @hyperking's yellow bird or pelican/python combo.
I know I started the issue but I don't have any say in what goes through. I am loving all the work here.
Still, my favourite is hyperking's work, first row logos on: https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-25136148
I'm not sure, do we put it to a vote or what? This issue has been around for around a year now.
'Logo' has three meanings here (so, I believe these awesome works above have inter-related uses):
1) Wordmark: a standardized graphic representation of a name, usually text with unique typographic treatments
2) Mascot: something thought to bring good luck; something used as a symbol for a unique thing
3) Web Button / Web Badge: an image offered for use in other settings and designs
[Edit: updated terms and links]
For a wordmark, I like https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-23056624 https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-23059957 and https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-23679465 . Mixing and matching these approaches could have nice effect. My senses for general principles here still need tuning; so far, font, spacing, and shading seem most important; a color scheme makes more sense to pick once we start applying it to getpelican.com . A unique P, like https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-23679465 -4 "in flight", may fit this context well.
For a mascot, I like @hyperking 's "yellow bird" in https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-25136148 a lot. It fits my two most desired features, flight and fatness (like I see 'em :D). Its smile adds a bit of joy too. In terms of how it can benefit Pelican, a free software project, so far I see these main attributes:
For a web button, "Powered by" seems like a better way to go than "Generated by". That's small potatoes; our wordmark seems like a better place to start for this, though it may be worth limiting its use only to getpelican.com . I'm interested to see how well that mascot could squish down to 16x16. Hmm, speaking of squishing and 16x16, creating a favicon with either a shrunken mascott or an iconic P might also be worth investigating for our default theme and/or for getpelican.com
@mitchtbaum Great analysis! I totally agree. Further considerations are needed in using the "yellow bird" in terms of scaling into a smaller recognizable icon.
my personal fav is the current https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-54650361
I'm open to considerations from everyone ... within reason :-)
I have developed a flat file cms called "pygmy". I will most likely use my third option if it's been decided that it will not be used as the pelican logo.
Option #2 from https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-54472158 is probably the best fit to me.
I think we should make a call and decide! @hyperking @justinmayer and others, would that be okay for you?
@ametaireau and @justinmayer As long as I can make the final refinements to option #2 I am okay with that.
If color is to be added let me know. Cheers
+1 for deciding :)
I would like to have at least @avaris and @justinmayer votes on this one. Next step, once we agree, is to put the logo on the documentation I believe.
@ametaireau, I do like the #2 as well. Simple and elegant.
As I mentioned before (WOW — two years ago!), I like the simple black silhouette the most. That said, if Derry is open to refining the shape on option 2 to more closely resemble the contours of a pelican's head and bill, then I'm sure that would be a fine choice as well. (^_^)
@justinmayer I am open to all consideration moving forward.
Since the bird is in flight, I would rather use this head silhouette ( repo image )
https://github.com/getpelican/pelican/issues/1008#issuecomment-22556443
is that doable?
@hyperking. Yes, that seems okay to me.
@justinmayer Cool. I have been away on other assignments. I will work on another draft.
Anyone else with color suggestions let me know.
Cheers!
Sounds great. If it's ready by next weekend (10th), I'll show it off on my slides at my PyCon Japan talk. (^_^)
:+1: ( rolling up sleeves ) it's go time!
@justinmayer here is a revised draft. any thoughts?

@justinmayer anyway to provide feedback on the revised logo?
Revised Logo
I was affected by the recent flooding in the US. Im dedicated to getting this work to you before the Oct. 10th.
Per colors Im imagining something inline with the "sea and air"
any thoughts on this as well??
Looks great to me. I like the sea color scheme as well. Nicely done. Looking forward to seeing the colorized version!
@justinmayer Thanks!.
Here are some color auditions. I also refined an icon version to be more rounded which increases line fidelity when scaling down.

@justinmayer Hey feedback with the color drafts? I have other projects warranting my attention.
i may have delay in my responses.
Thanks
Nice! They look great. I think I'd go with the first one with the circle around it.
@justinmayer Cool! glad to see this issue finally resolved.
To everyone else here is a dropbox link to download png images of the logo.
final Pelican Logo
Cheers to everyone contributing to such great software.
What is the licence for the logos? Can i for example download them for use in a blog post about pelican?
@gntech I think that would be fine with me.
sure to note my name as logo designer would be nice. :-) similar to Alex Jf
@hyperking Thank you for this great contribution to the pelican project! :)
Now the blog post is up at http://www.gntech.se/posts/pelican-driver-gntechse/ i made a mention of the designer in a footnote.
Any chance we'll see these on the official site/docs. I really like what you people have come up with! Would be a shame not to use it.
@justinmayer did the official logo ever get used.. officially?
@leotrs: Yes, as can be seen here: https://twitter.com/getpelican
As part of the next release (whenever that happens), I agree that incorporating the logo into the site and docs would be great.
Looking great.
Looking forward to the next release then :)
Was this logo ever officially adopted? And if so, under which license is it?
So I understand for the last comments in this thread that the proposed logos made by @hyperking are the ones chosen to represent Pelican. I am working in a theme in which I am going to design a logo. I want to be sure of the license of the logos. I know Hyperking said:

But I like to specify the licenses of everything I used to make it easy to share in the same conditions (or clarify if it can be shared/reused in another way).
cc. @justinmayer, as the one assigned to this issue.

Nice! Thank you @justinmayer :). I think the should be easier to find, it could be documented in the official blog of Pelican. If I can help with something, I can try to help with some task :).
It’s already listed on the getpelican.com site.
Oh! Excuse me, I didn't visit the Gratitude page before asking. Thank you very much again!
Once again, many sincere thanks to @hyperking for all his hard work on the Pelican logo. It's truly splendid artwork and a boon to the project.
