What happened?
I am on https://devtube.dev-wiki.de running peertube 2.1.1 and i am unable to comment with an image. i added a direct link to an image but it shows up as a link as opposed to resolving the link and showing the actual image.
What do you expect to happen instead?
image should show if i give a direct link/ html code.
Right now i tried to put in "HTML fully linked" image link via
but it showed nothing. no link, no output
Steps to reproduce:
upload image to ibb.co and copy embed codes
paste different embed codes in peertube video comments
output, either raw link is showed or nothing at all
Additional information
same for embedding url/embed code of existing peertube videos in a comment. currently pasting embed code in a comment shows nothing while pasting the url in the comment box shows the url itself. It should get resolved and the video should show up/play
Sorry, newbie gawker here, but i disagree. I don't think the idea should be to upstage the main video in any way. links and #hashtags are nice(maybe even a gif), but anything more is just too distracting. ...however i do have my own suggestion on how to improve the comment system #3116
As a system administrator this seems like it would be a big headache unless we also have more powerful comment moderation tools
Wouldn't be better a response video system like the one Youtube had before removing it? That would increase discussion and partecipation among videomakers and their viewerships.
Image and video links are fine and that's it, with the possibility to expand the links to embed like Reddit Enhancement Suite do.
Hello,
We don't want to add images support in video comments in core peertube, but it could be interesting to expose hooks that can update markdown options so admins decide by themselves.
