I used peek on Ubuntu and it worked very well. But I'm interested, does it work on Mac OS? I didn't notice anything about Mac OS in readme

No, it doesn't currently. It probably would not be too difficult actually, since the underlying use of ffmpeg to record the screen also works on macOS (just needs some different parameters). Main work would probably be around getting the build to work cleanly on macOS and figuring out how to do the packaging.
But I personally don't have any plans to tackle that. I'll accept pull request adding macOS support, though :D
