Papirus-icon-theme: Static website for Papirus

Created on 14 Nov 2017  路  6Comments  路  Source: PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-icon-theme

Hi,

I have started making a script to create a static website for Papirus. I'm using it more everyday and would really like to have somewhere to easily search through the available icons. I've been using the t command in github but that doesn't really cut it.

This is the repo https://github.com/mrceephax/papirus-icon-theme-viewer. I'd really appreciate it if someone would like to help me make it.

I was basically thinking of something like what the material icons guys do.

I could have a cron job that runs this script every day and serve/uploads to a s3 bucket.

I do not think that someone will use a separate site just for that. However, an official webpage with the feature will be pretty cool.

I made a small mockup, how could it look https://wireframe.cc/oBwfGD
I've low JS skills, but I can create a template using CSS framework (Bootstrap, Materialize, etc).

Didn't know about this feature, thanks, it's very helpful.

I am tempted to help with this sort of thing. I have a moderate amount of experience with web design and would consider myself proficient at JS, CSS, & HTML.

@SmartFinn I wanted to make you aware of this.

Perhaps we can make a test website repository and host it on github like the numix icon theme does for example.

@SmartFinn Do you think we could take advantage of Github Pages and its templates and make an official website for Papirus Development Team?

@creepertron95 no problem to find a place for site hosting. I don't see a reason to create a page that has the same content as in REAMDE or just about page. It should have something interesting, like searching and browsing the icons. Unfortunately, I don't have the time and skills to develop this.
