Openra: Fake buildings should count for "build off of".

Its such a pain in the ass to make fake buildings and then you cant build on the other side of it so you have to build around it. Whats so bid if you could just build off them? If you were gonna basewalk with them power plants would be a better choice right?

Balancing Red Alert

The Conyard radius limitation balances out the risk of base creeping, so this idea isn't completely unreasonable.

Can you build fake buildings off of other fake buildings?

Making fake buildings allow other fake buildings to be built wouldn't be that bad it fact. But it requires something like that: #10550

Definitely no :-1: what is the point? more cheaper base creeping? Covering your base with fake wall of buildings around? Balance breaking idea I think.

Cheaper base creeping is a pretty small benefit, and this would make France more attractive (I would bet it's a distant 3rd in popularity among allied factions currently). I don't think it would be all that beneficial as a front line base pushing building, just as something to reach back line ore. As epicelite said, it is a huge PITA currently, so much so that I don't bother making fake buildings other than a nuke when I play as France.

If you enable this then you would have another reason to build fake buildings besides "covering" your real building with the fake variety, and that is the base creep.
You wouldn't build your fake structure at the front in order to hope to fool the enemy to think thats your primary. But with "build off of" enabled you would have a reason to build them at the fronts, and that is to push you def even further.
All I say is: Beware ... double edged.

The Conyard radius limitation balances out the risk of base creeping, so this idea isn't completely unreasonable.

fake buildings dont even need energy ... so this would just exaggerate the idea of basewalking
:-1:

It would be close to 100% useless as front line base pushing - you can't build def structures and fake buildings at the same time, so your fake building has a pretty good chance of being destroyed before you have time to build and deploy a def. structure.

The only real benefit would be to make it easier to reach back line ore, and to make building fake structures in your base less of a pain in the ass. Not balance breaking at all, and helps noobs who might not know that fake buildings don't currently have"build off of".

Strongly in favour of this change.

@fgdzfggsfgsfgsf So Allies reach the back line ore "instantly", Soviets don't ?

By allies you mean France only? And by instantly you mean after spending time building relatively useless fake structures and risking not having a def structure ready if the enemy rushes? Then yes.

Reaching back line ore more easily is about as useful as a rank up crate on a rifleman.
