Title says it all. These should be the real traffic light buttons and not web based replicas.

Now that electron/electron#5557 is implemented, can we get the native traffic lights?

Hey鈥攁ny particular reason? (I agree, just want to make sure we prioritize this appropriately.)

I can imagine a couple:

  1. Native OS X Window Management (like splitting screening).
-- To do this currently, you have to split screen a different app, then choose Nylas.
  2. Third-party window management, ie. Moom (#1838)

Hi ben, I use a few OSX utilities that interact directly with the traffic lights. The main one which I have become accustomed to is window resizing using a tool called moom. Also the native screen splitting is an issue.

I wouldn't call it high priority but it would kill the annoyance of manually resizing to match things perfectly.

@KevinMartin you beat me to it

I use a different colour scheme on osx and non-native traffic lights get missed.

I think part of this is dependent on electron/electron#3009 which has a potential fix from brave/electron#13.

Took me a while to figure out that the traffic lights aren't native. I often use split view and I can't with N1.

I'm not sure if this is just the traffic lights or a larger behaviour that's the issue, because:

  • You can create a Split View without using the traffic lights, by making one app go fullscreen and dragging another onto it in the expose view.
  • This works for Nylas N1 as well. I can split a screen with either a composer window or the main N1 window and any other application
  • However, I _cannot_ split a screen with the N1 Main window and a Composer window.
  • Yes, I _can_ split a screen with two composer windows.

Can anyone figure out why this is happening?

+1

I am a heavy user of keyboard-based window management (most recently via Moom, previously Slate and others), and it's driving me batty that I can't toss my N1 windows around like usual. Every other app I use allows this, including Atom. Please fix.
