@wpitallo We will start experimenting upgrade as soon as vue3 is in public-beta.
It would be so excellent to have something to track & keep an eye on, for those of us eagerly awaiting Vue 3 support in Nuxt. This issue already ranks high in search results, but with it closed like this it feels like a dead end. Can we create some kind of avenue for tracking Vue 3 support? It'd be so lovely if we could re-open this issue, to those ends, but I'd be happy with any kind of option to help keep track of this. Thanks so much. Happy hacking. /cc @pi0

Vue 3 beta has now been released. Excited to see Nuxt start adopting it.
when is the nuxt js support vue 3, and doest it going to be a simple command with upgrade or we will need to modify the code??
There is a git branch « vue3 » in nuxt.js, I don't known the ETA, anyone have informations ?
Since there is now multiples beta version of VueJS 3, and as I need to start a new project, I would like to known if I can start from the WIP vue3 branch or not. Thanks ! :)
good question @lakano - I bet @manniL could answer that. Curious too -- thinking about upgrading to nuxt 3 in a project to see if everything is still compatible.
Any ETA? I'm also interested :)
Perhaps the Nuxt team could provide some simple suggestions on how to upgrade to vue/nuxt 3 - so we could begin testing early and report back with any issues. Personally I'd be happy to test it out.
@simplenotezy We have started several branches (webpack5, next, vue3) and so far Webpack SSR support for Vue3 landed but not a precise timeline for beta testing at the moment. As many internals including vue-app and builder is to be rewritten from scratch to align with vue3. (of course with less breaking changes as much as possible)
Meanwhile, you can try out composition API with nuxt-community/composition-api and vite
Will keep this issue updated.
Well, finally Vuejs 3 is in RC :tada: (https://github.com/vuejs/rfcs/issues/189), seems that third party libraries can upgrade it, because API will not suffer breaking changes in this state.

@pi0, usually I don't like to ask dates of releases with major changes, because you know..., we are all developers. However, Vue and Nuxt projects really excite me and I want to use Vue 3, but don't want to use Vue without Nuxt.
So here comes... Is it possible to at least provide very rough estimate of release date? 1 month, 6 months, 1 year?
Like, is there a way we can help? 😅
EDIT: typo

We are all super excited to use Nuxt.js with Vue 3 support.
Hi,
I have a question, if nuxt with vue 3 is going public, is it gonna make older version of nuxt unusable or super hard to upgrade?
I'm very much looking forward to NuxtJS with Vue3, I've been using both NuxtJS and Vue from the very early days, and could imagine having to use anything else anymore.
Out of curiosity, the NuxtJS plugins, 1st party ones, will these be released around the same time or should we expect a slight delay?
As always, thanks to the contributors who are making NuxtJS what it is, you are doing a fantastic job - thank you 🙏

Give us Vue 3 support within the next week or I fork.
Last chance.
Perhaps you should ask for your money back.
