Nopcommerce: Specification attribute grouping

Let's make some kind of groups for specification attributes. But allow to ignore groups (some store owners don't require them)

Then use them on product details page (specifications), compare products page, pass them in the model to filter boxes on category details page

BTW, it was already available as plugin at http://codetrim.github.io/EasySpecs/ (not anymore for the latest version)

This is a great feature request. We currently do this in another eCommerce framework that we porting over to nopCommerce. We manage around 20k products and this feature saves a ton of time.

I see AdreiMaz removed this from the milestone. Does this mean it will not be part of 3.90 as there is a plugin which is doing the same already?

@AndreiMaz if we use this plugin, then this feature will be part of NopCommerce, how to export data to make a plug in Nopcommerce. The plugin is not a solution but a dead end.

There is one more problem with this plugin.

After your suggestions that there is a plugin, I downloaded the same and tried it on NopCommerce.

Initially i though it works fine, but just after installing a theme it is evident that it does not support anyother theme but default one which comes with nopcommerce. ex: nop-templates themes.

Also it does not support any plugins which display the product specifications. ex: nop-templates quick tabs.

I have tried reaching to the developer of the plugin. Initially, he listed to the problems and tried helping around, but then he said, he can't fix the problems as he doesn't have enough time to spare for the plugin.

Andrei - I would ask you to bring the functionality out of the box for nopcommerce 3.90. This would benefit the community and also the users doesn't have to depend on any third party plugin providers as there is a risk that the third party plugin may be discontinued at the developers will. This is such a basic need. I hope you will consider this request.

its need to be With adding function Import/Export Specification Attributes.
because now i have more then 700 specification attributes. Same is for Display, CPU, GPU, Camera ,Storage and else. When Grouping function will be available i need to add each of 700 specification to group.
if Import/Export is available it can be more easy work.

Can be a Grouping Multi layer? Can i create Group1, and Group1 include to Group2 and Group3?

in 4.00 version plugin don't available.

Where does this feature stand? I need the functionality extremely bad ! This is a standard feature in most ecommerce platforms today. Not sure why NOP is that far behind.. If you add it to the code base all themes could support it. If purchased as a plugin you run the risk of breaking your theme..

This is a total nonsense that this feature is not available out of the box.
To redirect us to a paid plugin that does not even suppoer the latest version of nopcommerce is not a good solution either.
I am going to write my own plugin and will certainely spend one week or so doing it, what a disapointment...

Kryptus let me know if you need help, i will very much help you. I have
been asking for this from years and none of the decision makers like
andrew and team never agreed. They are not realising the fact that the
plugin is no longer supported and a feature like this should be out of the
box by design and not left to third parties who could end its life cycle,
like how they did now.
