The CTC would like to propose adding @mcollina (Matteo Collina) to join as a voting member of the CTC. Matteo has been doing a great job at managing the streams working group, and is certainly the most knowledgable person when it comes to important parts of our codebase.
This is a public nomination process, if there are objections from @nodejs/collaborators to this nomination then feel free to speak up, although it may be more sensitive to do so in private by emailing a member of the CTC you are comfortable with.
Equally, we understand that there are other @nodejs/collaborators who work very hard and contribute a great deal of value to the project and we would like to continue to evolve the CTC to ensure it is representative of the majority of technical effort put in to Node and has a diverse enough base of opinions, perspective and technical skill areas to be able to make effective decisions regarding the future of Node. Therefore, even though we continue to assess and discuss additional candidates, we welcome input from collaborators on this process, if you think there are individuals that are making significant technical contribution who would add new perspectives or skills to the CTC please contact a CTC member that you are comfortable with to discuss it further. The CTC should not be a static group and should be both adding and shedding members to ensure its relevance.
+1 @mcollina
I think @mcollina could make a great addition to the CTC

+1 for @mcollina
I think he's doing an awesome job both in core and with the community :)
Don't get me wrong, but is it necessary really? Does he even want to? It's not an award for merits and might be just distracting, no?
Would be in favour of course.

People get approached privately before we announce nominations publicly. Agreed that there's no reason to nominate someone if they aren't interested.
They also observe a small number of meetings before their membership is voted on, and they can withdraw if they find things are too time-consuming or otherwise not in their best interest.
Thanks for the insight. Then I am looking forward to it.
I'm willing to accept the nomination, and looking forward to it!
