Hey ya'll. 馃憢 @gr2m and I have been thinking about instituting Nock office hours, once a month, in order to give the maintainers and users a chance to air simple questions in a friendly way, and in order to promote more camaraderie among the community. We would pick a date, and set up a Zoom call on a regular schedule that anyone could jump on. The idea would be that it would last around a half hour or so.
Would anyone be interested in attending such a session?
I like this idea. If the time isn't far into the night (time zone differences) I'd like to join. 馃憤
Did you have any specific topics in mind?
Just saying hi to each other, get to know the people behind the avatar. It will help with the communication afterwards :) We can also give a plan of what we plan to do next. Half an hour sounds good to me. Time wise we can try early morning pacific time to cover most of the US and Europe, but mention that we can alternate the time if people for other places woudl like to join?
Early morning Pacific time works for me. In the interest of moving this forward: How about this Thursday, at 9am PST?
Can we do Friday 10am PST? 9am is baby feeding time for me :)
That works for me. :) @jlilja Work for you?
That works for me as well. :)
In that case, let's go with that!
Friday, 9/14: 10:00am PST, 1:00pm EDT

_Welcome to the first nock/nock office hours._
It's been almost a month. How do we feel about having another hour, soon? :)
oh I still have some open follow ups! But in general yeah, happy to
I'm traveling at the moment, so it's pretty hard to tell when I am free. But if someone suggests a day, I can figure out when would be a good time from there. Currently, planning on being in Thailand until the 15th, and then largely AFK until the 22nd, when I'll be in Berlin and London.
Hi! I'm halfway through a move at the moment so there isn't much work that I can do. I could be in on a meeting though. Let me know when you guys have time and I'll try to make some room :)
How about Oct 24th, 8am pacific time, 4pm London time?
I'll be getting ready to get on a plane then! Perhaps a couple of days later, on the 26th?
The 26th would be the best one for me, at 4 pm london time (5 pm CEST).
that鈥檚 wake-up & feeding time for our babies. Can we do at least an hour later?
That should work for me. :)
I won't be able to make it today. :( I've come down with a fever. Have fun, ya'll.
@gr2m Do we have a meeting room? I'm ready now.
I'm sorry I tried to join but the zoom ID didn鈥檛 work, I got an "id is invalid" error :( Ugh
Let鈥檚 try again next week, same time? I鈥檒l test the zoom ID with Richard ahead of time
Yes, let's! Have a nice weekend :)
oh my did I miss it or does it start in 10min?
I believe we both missed it. 8am PST, 11am EST (which I missed).
It's possible that the whole office hour idea is not working because there's no agenda, as opposed to because of trivial scheduling issues. What do you think? Should we rethink having these?
Yes. Sorry Jonas!
I still like the idea of a regular hour when we are just there, working on nock. That would be the time when others could come and ask questions.
Yeah the time differences are a bit of an issue. If you'd like, you can still have the meetings without me - I wouldn't mind.
As an update; I'm going to be more available soon, which means I'm gonna spend more time on Nock again. Like we talked about from the last meeting - there are still things that need to be done. :)
Hey gents, I鈥檝e a little more availablity now, too. How about we find some time that we can co-work remotely? I鈥檇 really, really like to finally get these tests taken care of :)
After that a lot of fun work is ahead of us! Most of all we can use async/await everywhere because in April Node 2019 Node 6 is out of maintenance 馃帀https://github.com/nodejs/Release#release-schedule
How about Friday, Nov 7th, 10am - 12pm pacific?
Sounds good to me! December 7th works for me. We could potentially do it all afternoon, as well, instead of just a couple of hours - it would be great to do a mini-hackathon for getting the test suite working, in particular.
works for me :)
We're doing something similar with the #1268 open source fridays maintainathon calls. I am going to close this as being superseded by that initiative.
