same for me
I think it's still all the same problem as in the link. The default GDM mode (with wayland) needed some changes to Xserver arguments; that was implemented in a way that broke other display managers and got reverted. AFAIK noone has yet implemented a fix that would override those options for GDM only.
It's a bit unfortunate we're stuck in this in-between state.
