Next.js: Loading during getInitialProps

Sorry If im asking this in the wrong place but was there a resolution to the issue of handling loading in getInitialProps when navigating between pages? Following the demo on learnnextjs.com, there can be a considerable pause when clicking on the links. Doesn't seem ideal.
