News: [Bug] Some feeds do not work (after the first update)

Explain the Problem

What problem did you encounter?
There are feeds that do not get updated after the first sync when you subscribe (first and only update will be when once subscribe, and then there won't be any other update)

Steps to Reproduce

Explain what you did to encounter the issue

I add a feed of the page www.arxiv.org. Concretely, this one: http://export.arxiv.org/rss/quant-ph
I get the first updates right after subscribing and I wait for one day.
Next day, there are not updates when they are actually appearing in the webpage.

System Information

News app version: 13.0.3
Nextcloud version: 14.0.3
PHP version: 7.1.23
Database and version: MariaDB 10.0.36
Browser and version: Firefox 61.0.1
Distribution and version: Ubuntu 17.10

There is not error message.

I was expecting someone to reply, but noone has done it so far. Hope someone takes notice of this issue. A feed reader that doesnt work for all feeds is not a good reader. :( I really the app, but I cannot use it like this.

I have the same or a similar problem. Some feeds are updated a couple of times and then stop, all other feeds are updated normally. And I have a cronjob.

In the Readme is a "feeds are not updating" section
You could try to follow the steps there. Maybe you can find the cause or narrow it down.

OK, I found the problem, but I don't know why this is happening. The 'location' in 'oc_news_feeds' has been change to another value, the location of an empty feed. I manually change it back to the the value of the 'url' field (the url I subscribed to) and now the (desired) feed is being updated again.

Any ideas?

I will try to debug this. I had already subscribed to this feed at some point to test it but I got distracted and didn't find the cause.

My first guess is that it's not an issue with news but the feed.

I can't reproduce this the feed works fine even with the currently pretty broken release and on master. If you encounter any issues after the next release(s) feel free to create a new issue. Closed.
