Many people use NewPipe in public places. This is a terrible idea.

I don't think that's a good idea
Currently NewPipe is not age restricted and all people can use it.
When this issue will be implemented, app will be for adult only and some groups of people can't be use this app (children and people from some countries).
I understand, that a lot of people watch porn movies, so I think, this issue could be implemented only, when NewPipe will be support plugins (if will be) and then, external user could create unoficial plugin. Personally I think, this issue shouldn't be implement as official feature.

Ah, my friends. Let us not forget that we already have a setting called "Age restricted content" in Content settings. If an enterprising 'child' goes in settings and turns this on to become an adult early in life, who are we to stop them?

Maybe this could be like Android Developer Settings. You have to toggle the setting on and off 7 times to unlock an 'Easter Egg'. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Edit: also, this could be a SAFE way to access porn. Let's not force people to throw themselves at the mercy of ads, trackers, malware, cryptominers, and the like.

Yes, we allow age restricted content, but I don't believe YouTube or any of the places NewPipe has as a service openly allow pornographic material. YouTube's "age restriction" is basically for swearing or doing some suggestive stuff, not any nudity, as that isn't allowed. I also don't think that it is in the best interest to try to get someone to use a software then they find out it has porn in it.

As @pawlosck said, plugin support would be a prerequisite for something like this to be considered seriously.

Before we allow NSFW content, we need to implement a proper child mode first. I oppose the idea of including porn, plugin support is the only option, I'd accept.

Yes, that's true. The military weapon business is a billion dollar one with great demand, too. That doesn't mean we should endorse it happily.
Porn is exploitation of people, and people are more important than money, so porn is something to fight, not to promote. I (and I think NewPipe as a whole) certainly don't want to support/promote it.

I think we can safely concluded, that most people do not want to have porn services included in NewPipe. In case someone really needs porn, they can make a fork.
