When I listen to YouTube videos in podcast-form I want to be able to skip backwards and forwards a couple of seconds (like when you double tap the left or right hand of the screen in the player) instead of abruptly jump to the next clip.
My suggestion is that an extra option is added in the settings where the user can decide what the Bluetooth controls does. Some want the default option and some, like me, want just to fast forward or rewind.
FWIW this has been implemented in AntennaPod as Forward Button Skips option in Playback settings.
It was also suggested (#1630) that the behavior could be automatically adjusted based on clip length so one might consider that.
I actually use AntennaPod and love that setting.
I wouldn't be against an automatic switch between skip track and forward but I really think it has to be something one can choose in the settings like: 1) always skip track, 2) always jump forward in track, 3) automatically choose.
I have no idea what antenna pod is however I find it incredibly aggravating when I'm in the middle of a multi Hour podcast or live stream I accidentally tapped my Bluetooth button and end up resetting playback time to zero and then having absolutely no idea how to get back to where I was. I would love the ability to remap forward and back to time skip instead of previous / next video. Personally I would recommend against defaulting to an automatic switch based on clip length and personally have this option toggled on and off manually in preferences. Although I would not be opposed to having an auto detect option as well
