Nbconvert: Download as pdf and nbconvert to pdf fail

Hi,

I am trying to export my notebook as PDF, and this error appears! I tried all other answers with tlmgr install and nothing helps.. That's why I am posting here.

Using Jupyter Notebook on MacOS High Sierra (10.13.4)
Just installed MacTeX today, and using a new Anaconda version (installed a couple of months ago)

500 : Internal Server Error

Some of the libraries used for conversion are sometimes picky when it comes to formatting of the notebook. This appears to be an error in one of your math equations. I can't tell where without looking at the notebook, but my guess is that you need to adjust the formatting of some equations.

For example:

$$ equation $$

will cause the conversion to fail, while:

$$equation$$

will succeed.
