Nativescript: iOS Real Device crash due to app launches takes more than 20 second

Describe the bug
Seems like a run time error. The issue is when I compiled and ran the app in a real device, the app takes more than 20 second to launch. This cause iOS to terminate the app unexpectedly. However, this issue does not happen in iOS 14 iPhone X. This issue happens in older iphones and older ios version, in my case, the app is terminated when I use iOS 12.4.8 iPhone 6 plus.

My project is already migrated to the latest nativescript and all the imports have been fixed to the recommended ways of importing modules.

not sure if related to the above bug, when we deploy the app to testflight for tester, they are not able to download and install the app. I'm assuming because it launches for too long, Apple prevent the testers from downloading the app.

to reproduce

  1. ns run ios into a real ios device
  2. This will start the app in the device, the app will work perfectly
  3. Close and kill the app
  4. Re-open the app, the app will take more than 20 second to launch thus terminated by iOS watchdog

Expected behavior
The app to not crash and launch less than 20 seconds in all ios device regardless of the version

Additional context
Previously the app was using Nativescript 6, we updated it to Nativescript 7. There were a lot of issues regarding the dependencies, we updated the dependencies using other forks of the plugins, which can be seen in the package.json where we are not using the "official" plugin for inappbrowser, windowed modal, and datetimepicker.

Uninstalling @nativescript/firebase does not help resolving this issue

It looks like you're attempting to link against SensorKit.framework, which is only available in iOS 14.0+. This doesn't appear to be a NativeScript core issue. None of the plugins you've chosen stand out to me as requiring SensorKit; you'll have to do some digging into your project to see if something is attempting to import it.

Hi there! I also noticed that too! But what troubled me is I cannot find any lines of codes in my projects that are using SensorKit. Have you got any idea where else I can look for to remove this SensorKit? I've never dealt with actual iOS development environment previously

Hi there, seems like the issue was the barcode scanner, I have removed the barcode scanner, and the issue still persist. I have like 150 pages in the app. Is that the reason why the app takes too long to load up?

Without a duplicatable case it is hard to know why it would be so slow to startup. We have multiple apps deployed that are large and no issues like this...

The other option is you can copy the package.json file into a new vue app; and then create 150 dummy pages and setup a dummy demo app the same way so that we can see the issue. But without some way to duplicate the issue; it is very hard to give you any direction.

Hi there! Thanks for the response! We are looking to go for the first option. But first, we need to redact some information and branding in the app since this is a client's project. Will get back to you by Tuesday!

i have the same issue.. but .. in emulator, with ios 12.4 on iphone6 it works fine just in device the app show only splash screen and then the app just close.

i am using xcode 12.
