The vote was to add a toggle to these in 1.9 so this issue is to track that.

It was also suggested that we add the option to use Font Awesome for post icons. This would also help post icons fit in better with the new 1.9 theme.

@rajat315315 - does your PR take care about templates? I mean hide (remove) the collumn in all pages when post icons are disabled?
Same for new reply/thread/PM

Not yet.. will do.
It just takes care of the fact that users won't be able to apply icons to new Posts..
