Msbuild: Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly

Created on 8 Jun 2018  路  3Comments  路  Source: dotnet/msbuild

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open our Xamarin Android solution (which I can provide to someone on the Xamarin team through some secure method.)
  2. Build the solution.
  3. Notice how there are build warnings about different version conflicts, which started in the latest Xamarin release.

Expected Behavior

There are no warnings related to different version conflicts when building the project, as we're using the latest versions of each package.

Actual Behavior

Building gives the following warnings:

/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/5.10.1/lib/mono/msbuild/15.0/bin/Microsoft.Common.CurrentVersion.targets(5,5): Warning MSB3247: Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly. In Visual Studio, double-click this warning (or select it and press Enter) to fix the conflicts; otherwise, add the following binding redirects to the "runtime" node in the application configuration file: (MSB3247) (com.rpr.mobile.droid)

/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/Android/Xamarin.Android.Common.targets(3,3): Warning MSB3247: Found conflicts between different versions of the same dependent assembly. In Visual Studio, double-click this warning (or select it and press Enter) to fix the conflicts; otherwise, add the following binding redirects to the "runtime" node in the application configuration file: (MSB3247) (com.rpr.mobile.droid)

Not surprising since this ticket has been ignored, but this is still an issue in 2019. Today I created a new Xamarin Android project, added some nuget packages, and sure enough I'm still getting the same warnings. Could someone please look into this?

I just got the same issue, could anyone really really look into it? We would appreciate it.
