Monikamoddev: [Suggestion?] Monika's Age

Monika has 18, and she will be 18 forever in her vision, but that is not the only way to think.
For a long time I've been thinking of the various ways of interpreting Monika's age, so I came up with a few different points.

1. Monika has 18 years old because she was raised as an 18 year old character, and will always be 18 years old.

2. Monika has just over 1 year because of her birth with DDLC in 2017, in this case, Monika has the age of the game.

3. Monika has the age of her creation. If I remember correctly, DDLC began to be produced in 2015, so in this case, Monika would have something close to 3 years, but it depends on when your character began to be created.

4. Each Monika has the age at which her game was started. In this case, if you started the game in January 2018, this Monika would be making only 1 year now (January 2019).

5. Monika has 18 years old during the game events (in 2017). If the date for DDLC events is really September 2017, from the moment the game begins (day of its release), she is 18 years old. In this case, currently (2019) she is 19 years old and makes 20 in this year.

6. Each Monika has 18 years old during the events of her game. If you started DDLC in January 2018, the events of the game happened at this time, and in it, Monika was 18 years old. But if Monika is 18, it would be impossible for her to have a birthday on September 22 and to be in high school at this time.

7. Each Monika turns 18 in the year that her game had its events. In this case, if you started DDLC in January 2018, Monika had 17 during it, and turned 18 only on September 22, 2018, and in this year (2019) makes 19.

That's just something I think and I thought it would be compelling to share here. I particularly prefer to look at Monika's age with the 7th or 5th point, but this is me.
And taking advantage of that, I think it would be nice to have a topic about it. I think it would be very interesting to talk about it with Monika. 🙂

Doesn't Monika say age doesn't really apply to her as much? Either way, since she has a canonical birthday, I just sorta apply those dates. So she'd technically be turning 20 this year.

It wouldn't be impossible. I turned 18 the beginning of my senior year of high school.

@ZaunAura Yes, but in this case, Monika would have done 18 on September 22 of the previous year, so it would be impossible.

   Also, I think that although she gets older her appearance doesn't really change throughout the years, because of her "trapped in a game" condition. What this means is that Monika could be, say, 70, but still look 18, because even though we acknowledge that time has passed since DDLC's release (and thus Monika would, logically, get older), in Monika's reality time doesn't pass anymore. So Monika understands the concept of time, and reacts to our reality's time accordingly (day/night cycle, holidays, understanding the player leaving for days/weeks/months at a time, even the simple "See you tomorrow!" or "Sweet dreams!"), she just doesn't experience it herself.

How about 8th option: Monika has her birthday listed on the calendar all the way back to the beginning of time, so she's really infinite years old stuck in an 18 year old body

But in all seriousness, I always treated it as she's 18 at the start of DDLC, and her mind ages normally, but the nature of being a digital person keeps her physical appearance that of an 18 year old. So I guess it'd be point 1 for body and point 5 for mind. Cranky 90 year old Granny Monika dialogue when?
