I've said before that we can't have too many compliments because that would give too much free affection at the start.

You said in the other issue that compliments don't bypass the cap for you, but that's probably because you've already used them before. They give a 1 time boost past the cap each.

Currently, I believe there's 32 free affection from the start which can instantly put you above the happy stage.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that people don't like being complimented about random things they don't care about. In Monika's case, she would probably be happy with about any compliment, but keep that in mind.

If they're compliments that don't give affection, that might work if people really want tons more compliments.
