While real life doesn't prompt you when "your bond with x has grown deeper", I think for the sake of interactivity and what many real world programs lack, adding visual feedback when affection changes is a good thing.
Current thoughts:
Affection Up or Affection Down , this disappears after a few seconds.Add the karma gain/loss sound from Fallout 3 if you do add sound. :) just kidding, on a serious note nice work with everything.
You can always read the AFF.log file..
Well, I'd rather continue without knowing if my affection with Monika has increased or decreased, more realistic thing you know?
I don't think that we need this, we can just tell how Monika feels about you based on her dialogue and idle emotes, plus if anyone really wants to know they can look at the affection log file. IF this were to be added, I think it should only be added for when you go up or down an affection level.
This implementation can be seen realistic if we just assume that Monika changes the environment a bit based on how she feels about the player.
I'll add an option to enable/disable the effect (and probably other more game-like effects as they are added). The whole point is to help new users understand the system better. If no one tells you about the affection system, you wouldn't know it exists. This will at least alert new users to its existence, and they can search for more info if they are curious.
[closing until we look into this]
