Monica: Why did you seperate phone calls form all other activities?

I would like to understand, why you have chosen to deal with phone calls differently from other activities? I am not too proficient dealing with CRM systems, but I think it to be easier, to have all contacts with persons in one overview, because that is, what is of the most importance to me. From a software engineering standpoint, all those events have the same attributes, just the type is different.

I just started using Monica and decided to check the issues to see you ask the same question I asked myself. Since it's about managing personal relations I find that the overarching interaction is the most important, not its medium per se.

Having one overview of all interactions with tabs for each type (conversations, phonecalls, activities) would be preferable to me.

Hi, I agree, it would make a lot of sense to me if calls/conversations/activities were treated the same way; I would like to see them all appear chronologically in the "journal" list.

Activites are in-person events. Calls and conversation are not.

Though @lhenze is right, it would be good for calls and conversation to show in the journal as well.

I also think it might make sense to try and converge this. Also considering that not all activities are in-person; for example I've used activities to log notes about group/conference calls.

Independently of that, I agree with @lhenze and @tbirrell in that calls and conversations should appear in the journal.
