We could have the ability to search for "anything" basically, and display a nice view like Ivelope has done

This would be absolutely awesome! The current name.based search is only practical for small contact sets for that someone remembers all contacts well. I so much looking forward to enable at least company-based and tag-based searches.

It's a fantastic idea, sometime I just cannot recall my contacts very well, and the name based search dose not help much. To move the discussion forward I am preparing a sample prototype to see how we are going to accomplish this.

I also think this would be a very helpful for the cases where you're trying to remember someone based on a specific detail (such as where they worked). Right now I don't see any easy way to just do a fuzzy search over all fields.
