Mist: Very high fees?

OS & Version: windows 8.1

Node version: `geth 1.7.2` 
Number of blocks synchronized: 460324

Mist.zip

So I am using the Light client and I want to transfer my Ether. But appearently the fees are at least 0,05 Ether. That can not be right. If I change to the normal client my balance does not even show up. Can i do something about this?

That's because the chain is not up to date. I'm having the same issue, and many others too. The lightning client won't sync up, we can't send anything, our eth is stuck and switching to the old peer to peer network to download the chaindata doesn't work.

Are the developers been living under a rock for the last few days?

This I noticed too. It tends to happen when trying to send to an ethereum contract address (i.e. sending to a ICO address) when the blockchain is not synced all the way. Wait for full sync and try again.

This is definitely due to usage of syncmode "light".

While using the light client, minimum fee is 0.05 ETH. When I run Mist with syncmode "fast" the fees become reasonable.

I can't seem to sync the last 100-200 blocks...

I have the same issue. Mad fees with the light client, failing to sync the last few blocks with the full client.

The core team's focus should be 100% on usability of Ether and it's core wallet/apps. I'm perplexed how ETH got #2 in market cap with these kinds of issues going on unaddressed for so long.

Additionally the issue with the wallet taking an hour to load with the splash screen before you can open the wallet is a huge disappointment as well. Please address these issues asap please!!!
