micro looks like a great text editor and might be the only _simple_ console text editor on Windows (there's vi and vim, but...). It would greatly help to popularize it and ease access to it if there was a Chocolatey package.
I am not aware of your release build process but I'd be happy to assist in working on this feature.
Releases are available from https://github.com/zyedidia/micro/releases/latest so you can already package them.
There is also Far Manager if you need simple text editor on Windows.
I know about Far Manager, I am a maintainer of Far chocolatey package. Far is not a text editor though.
The request was to add building a package to the release process. If that is something that the dev team doesn't want to do, I might do it myself later.
I believe that dev team is unaware of Chocolatey given that Windows is not the primary development platform. So I'd not spend time waiting for it to happen. PR may be accepted - at least snapd package definition was.
micro is not even tested on Windows on AppVeyor, so you may want to explore this to build choco packages independently from stable tags.
Yeah I'm not sure how to package for Chocolatey, so you'll probably have to do it yourself, but I'm glad to help out however I can.
