Metamask-extension: My accounts MetaMask disappeared

Good Evening guys,

I logged in to MetaMask like any other day.
Used my password.
Can't see my accounts.
Logged out.
Logged in using the 12 words.
Asked me to create a new password.
Created.
Still can't see my accounts.
I am new to this forum so I applogize if there's rules here that I missed.

Could you clarify on not being able to see your accounts? Is MetaMask blank before/after inputting a seed phrase? Possibly related to #3191.

Without going into too many details, I solved it just by doing one thing:
I was able to search and find my Private Keys - and reopen the accounts.
That solves the issue for the ETH accounts.
As for the Tokens - they are gone from the MetaMask extension, but I can always add them later if I chose to do so.

Basically the recent terms of service agreement or whatever that was - messed up the account.

Hi - I'm having this same problem. When opening MM, it asked me to agree to knew terms and after doing so, it prompted me to set up a new password. After doing so, my 2 accounts were gone and so were my tokens. Also, I've thought I could export my private Keys and use that to import but after importing that, it said there were a duplicate. Please help! Thanks.

Hi @onntastic, are you still having a hard time?
It is simple. If you have the private key, you can restore the account.
Do you have the private key?

Also,
DO NOT share the private key with ANYONE no matter how much they are offering to help.
Any support you will get should NOT involve asking for your private key.

@onntastic, for those of us who are codelly challenged, would you mind telling us how you figured it out. I've only just noticed my Account 2 is gone too... I have all of my RIDL names reserved against that address and I have no idea how to get it back. :(

Do you have your private keys?
If you have the private keys & account numbers you are good.
You 'money' can be found.
As long as you have the private key.

Hey guys sorry for the late LATE response. All the wallets on each account
in MM stay the same despite if your tokens disappeared or not. I just
copied the wallet address, searched it on Etherscan and at the bottom
section where you see transactions for that wallet address, click on the
tab for Tokens. One you pull that screen up, you should find your token
contract address. Once you have that, copy n' paste that into Metamask in
the Token section. Your tokens should automatically pull up from that point.

I have a big problem. I have main account and three sub accounts. I made a one more. I sent SNC tokens and I received. After that I go for half a day out. After that the metamask logged out automatically (PC was online all time). I logged back in. The new sub account disappeared! I did not export private key yet? What now? :(

This happened to me as well. Account disappeared from MM for a few weeks, came back for 2 days and has now disappeared again. Wasn't able to download the private key because it was asking for a password.

@bdresser I add subaccount again and token (it has other an address the subaccount). Tokens showed again! I tried that yesterday.
But today there is no subaccount again and token too! Why I need to add everyday manually?

@davedjunaidi888 always back up your seed phrase! if you're logged in, you can click the menu in the top right, then "Settings," then "Reveal seed phrase." Keep it safe; if you don't have it we can't help you!

to see your newly added accounts, click "create account" again and it will recreate the same account you used to have.

It happened to me today. The last sub-account added disappeared.
I followed the tip from @bdresser and it came back. Is this a known bug?

Weird behavior I saw today.
1) I opened the plugin and was greeted with a message saying I shouldn't trust certain websites asking for my seed words. (can't remember the exact words of the message)
2) I signed in
3) Non of my accounts showed up when I clicked on the switch account icon.
4) I went to settings and clicked on "Reveal Seed Words"
5) I entered my password again and then clicked on "I've copied it somewhere safe"
6) Now I see all my accounts again!

Weird stuff... hope it helps!

Hey @bdresser, I tried this but I still can't see my account. I only have the seed phrase, and I imported the account using it, but now I can't see the money I used to have there.
Do you have any other of something that I can do?

I got the following issue: I reactivated my MetaMask extension in Chrome and then I was prompted to import my wallet again with my seed. I typed in the seed and the wallet was imported. But it is empty and the ETH account nr 0x7C8... does not match my original metamask ETH account 0x46....

So I am not sure now if I imported the correct seed. Will MetaMask create just a random new account when the seed I used was not the correct meta mask seed?
