Medusa: Changing Indexers for existing shows

Created on 17 Apr 2019  路  4Comments  路  Source: pymedusa/Medusa

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
As a default I use TheTVDB as my indexer but sometime they make really weird decisions like for instance now with Sabrina, they decided that all episodes are part of a single season because Netflix calls it Parts instead of Seasons, this breaks snatch since the scene sees it as Season 2

Describe the solution you'd like
I would really like to be able to swap my indexers for a running show to a different Index without losing my history.

My experience is that as long as you put effort into it most Repo's are more than willing to help you.
That said this repo is an exception!

Also looking for this because there's a dupekey issue being caused by tvmaze and tmdb, they only have the season and episode number(s) as key without an id for the show, which results in the same dupekey for all episode with the same number regardless of which show they are. I don't understand all of this but was explained to me on the NZBGet forum: https://forum.nzbget.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3447&p

Why didn't you create an issue for this? It's easily fixed.

Not blaming anyone. But I see people in that thread mentioning to expect this is fixed automatically. But we can't fix something if we don't know about it?

Because my experience with Github is if I don't follow a precise list of rules about posting new issues to the absolute letter I get a mod/admin yelling at me for not following a list of post rules to the absolute letter. Maybe it's not your experience but some Github owners can be a bit anal about their created rules of issue posting...
